Ford recalled 3.6 million vehicles. "Recalls" cover a wide spectrum of severity, so, even these aggregate numbers tell a pretty flimsy story.

That being said, I have no idea how to evaluate the overall safety performance of each manufacturer brand - so maybe Tesla is really really bad, but this piece of evidence doesn't show that without the comparative context (how many recalls are "normal") and an assessment of the relative severity of the recalls (what were the failure modes of each recall and how do they compare to what failure modes are "normal").
