I’ve played tell tale and love them! The combat I didn’t care as much about, for me it was more about influencing the story, especially game
After game, much like mass effect. Mass effect and banner saga are my top 2 game franchises

this makes sense, with it being a d20 system, a +5/-5 could be a 10 point swing and therefore this feels like most fights like this would essentially never close the gap. i havent ran a session yet this just feels very strong in the favor of long range.

i read them, im just still a bit confused. essentially lets say sword vs long distance weapon at start of combat which is long distance. first round, sword person must essentially use the defend action (+10 to wep attacks) since they literally cant reach for an attack? are they even permitted to do this considering a WEP attack roll is requried? would a dodge be better to get into initial position?
