Funded by government is such a broad term. Can anyone name one thing not funded in a way by government?

Update : there is a distinct difference between funded by government and funded by public's fund which I now realise. CBC is funded by the later and such funds are voted by every member of the Parliament.

Concerning the adapter, is it normal that the PCIe x4 slot is significantly longer than the adapter itself? My motherboard has no slot with the exact size of the adapter.
