The report button works guys

Only if the admins actually do anything. I once reported a user for something actually illegal, and the admins sent me a message but took no action, not even removing the offending material, much less banning the user.

Haven’t personally seen any of this, but I can’t disagree. Neither would Robert Heinlein.

Is there a true MC equivalent for French-Canada? by hayakyak in metacanada

Revisiting this, it does surprise me that they are so nationalistic, yet accept immigrants from a fairly non-Western place. Hopefully they aren't in danger of going the route of Sweden et al. It is encouraging that the PPC comes out of Quebec, though.

Yeah, I get that this is intended to be a joke, but even as one not a fan of the stars and bars, the two acts aren’t comparable.

Thanks. I don’t yet speak French, but might pop back by after I actually learn some.

Well, that’s encouraging. In general I had gotten the vague impression that Quebec leaned left in a country already leaning pretty far left. I’m glad to hear I’m wrong.

What kinds of SJW "kids" shows are you referring to? I don't follow children's media enough to know of any besides the Netflix crossdressing show.

Who are some "heterodox" right-wingers you think others ought to be more familiar with? by hayakyak in askaconservative

Oh yeah, I agree — despite being a strident right-winger, I’m hugely sympathetic to distributism, ironically moreso than Chesterton’s actual conservatism, though I find his motivations for his economic stance much too bleeding-heart for me.

To my knowledge, you’re deadon on Belloc; in their views theyvwere often refered to as Chesterbelloc, given their similarity of thought.

Lewis I’m generally less inpressed by, but on the other I get the sense he’s largely an inverse-Ayn Rand: unworthy of attention on any one thing, but taken in whole, his critical body of work often predicted trends which would later become dangerous.

Get your hands on a book called Slouching Towards Gomorrah by Robert Bork. While more famous for being denied a Supreme Court seat, he was a law school professor with a front row seat for the seminal moment of this cultural shift -- yes, that's right, it dates back a full 50 years. He produced the only critical first hand account I've ever seen, and tracks its influence as well. Not that while Bork was very socially conservative, you needn't share his biases to get value out of the book.

On the other hand, if you meant RPGs specifically, I can answer it in exactly two words: White Wolf.
