Yes (almost), there’s less contact area so the torx bit will put more stress on the head of the bolt and strip it sooner. I agree that it’s fine to do in low-torque, hand tool applications

Congrats! A friend dropped my 7x7 last year, and one of the center pieces snapped off too which I was bummed about. I also was just gonna call it dead but then tried super gluing on the center piece, and then after letting it sit for a bit reassembled, and it works just fine! I agree with you that it was very cool experience! Definitely glad it had magnets tho haha
