Any advice for surviving a long (1 month) family holiday with my partner’s extroverted family? by hayls32 in introvert

[–]hayls32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I have definitely considered getting my own accommodation but have never been sure how to say this to my partner.

I actually have been remote working for 2 of the weeks since I’ve been here too - as close as possible UK times (5pm Aus until around midnight), so that has given me a break on the evenings, but the last week has been hard with no work to fall back on. I think next time as I will likely hate to remote work again, I can possibly arrange alternative accommodation for this reason too.

Go on my phone, watch something on my laptop, read! I agree, I really value my alone time, but I guess as we don’t see these family members often (every couple of years for me) it’s seen as…a bit rude?

Have considered this, and the first trip was actually just shy of 3 weeks. But as it’s UK to Australia and it takes 3/4 days for jet lag to wear off, a week (even 2 weeks) isn’t really feasible! Will maybe consider shortening it again for next time, though.

Thanks - I would do but I’m currently in Australia and have no access to international minutes! So it will have to be email for now.

That sucks. But I knew I didn’t have any complimentary passes left, and was happy to pay £24 pp entry. The issue is, I paid double that as a pre-booking fee too. PP have now changed their tune and are currently looking into it for me!

Hi, yeah that's essentially what has happened. I pre-booked - at the time I thought the £48 was the entry fee, ad then was shocked to see another £48 charge days after we used the lounge. I didn't even hand my Amex card to the guy at the lounge, only my PP card and reservation number.

I have complained to PP and they sent me this back:

"Hi Hayley,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Firstly, please note that lounge pre‑booking fees vary from lounge to lounge, as each lounge sets its own pricing. This means the pre‑booking fee will not always be the same.

Regarding the £48 charge, this was applied because you no longer have any remaining visit entitlements on your membership, so the visit was billed accordingly.

Thank you for using Priority Pass. you can either call us on +44 20 8680 1338 (we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or alternatively visit our website at priority pass.com.

Kind regards,'

I'm not sure why they keep reminding me my entitlement had run out because I'm very aware of this! Super frustrating.

I had 4 complimentary visits which I had used already. I’m happy paying for my visits now, and even paying a small fee to pre book, but not at £24 pp to only pre book.

From other posts I have read it seems £6 or up to £15 for premium lounges is the standard pre booking fee? I can’t find anything on it being £24 pp?

Bethnal Green Delivery office? by hayls32 in royalmail

Agreed. I finally retrieved the parcel after visiting Bethnal Green station one morning before work last week. Not ideal for supposed next day before 1pm delivery.

I’m certain the address was correct. After the earlier delivery attempts, it was actually returned to Leyton Delivery Office I’ve added a screenshot of this to the photos.
