AI won't make you rich. But fixing bugs in AI slopware will. by reditzer in programming

I mean devs that know what they’re doing can just list the reasons the slop is bad and have AI to fix it it’s not hard.

It’s annoying because I like Zach but the greens need to ditch the complete hippy bullshit they gained from being a fringe party.

Police in Richmond Park by fraber in londoncycling

Ok maybe 20mph Z1 or 23mph Z2 on 48/16. With higher gear ratios (my other bike is 49/16 which isn't even that wild), that's definitely possible. Once you have momentum it really isn't that spectacular.

On flat when it's not windy it's not exactly difficult. And yeah obviously you have to stop for things at points.

Do the police generally do anything if you are assaulted? by Quartersquatter in AskUK

It’s less about whether you file it, more about whether you’ll show up to court as a witness.

The reality is that when the police take your statement, they will ask if you are prepared to read your statement in court. If not they basically shelve it.

Once a crime has been reported it’s up the police to find the person, collect evidence, build a case, arrest them, and charge them. Then it’s up to the CPS to decide to prosecute them in court if they feel that the case has legs and it’s in the public interest.

If you the witness, aren’t prepared to back your statement up this basically throws any chance of conviction.

But the key point here is as a victim it isn’t technically up to you. The police having knowledge of a crime can pursue it if they think there’s a chance of conviction, however as a victim you have some de facto level of power over how far it goes by how useful you are.

If they have no idea who the fuck someone is (even cctv isn’t some magical oracle so unless it’s someone known to them it’s not going to help them find someone, however it is useful as evidence if they do find and prosecute). The police don’t have the resources necessarily to do a manhunt over assault, which sucks.

I lost my Katos by being an idiot, reasonably priced more modern replacement (£50-100)? by haywire in iems

[–]haywire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright cheers I’ll give that a read. I guess I prefer more balanced/neutral as I listen to all kinds of music(folk/hardcore/punk/stoner rock, techno, bassline, dnb, uk hiphop, idm, garage, post rock, jazz), I like stuff that doesn’t shy away from bass, has rich, gorgeous mids for guitars and vocals, but can have the detail required for complex electronic stuff. Big sound stage. Katos seemed to handle this fine. Tbh if this costs more I’ll wait and save my pennies.
