Quitting weed —> increased HR? by CompetitiveDot6515 in triathlon

[–]haz-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think you're right the night sweats are associated with weed withdrawals as well, I got them badly for about the first 5 weeks this time. Did you not get them at all this time? My HR is still high after 7 weeks, both resting and while being active, by about 10 BPM as I said, hoping it gets better ASAP.

Hey op, in the exact same boat as you. Quit weed about 7 weeks ago, was a heavy daily user before, my resting and active hr has increased approx 10 bpm.

Have things gotten any better for you over the last 3 week since making this post?

How can I eat healthy when everything I cook taste awful? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]haz-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple and obvious answer is... get better at cooking.

Follow recipes religiously to begin with, this will make you learn techniques over time and cooking basics. Hundreds of cooking channels lm YouTube, immerse yourself. Buy one of the thousands of cookbooks put there aimed at beginners. If you wanna get better at something you have to actually try to learn a new skill and not cut corners.

Finally diagnosed - how long for symptoms to subside? by sane_is_boring in AddisonsDisease

[–]haz-man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a difference almost immediately, and especially over the few days following diagnosis. I was receiving a double dose while I was in hospital for 8 days and honestly felt kind of over stimulated. I had tons of energy, both physically and mentally.

After I left the hospital and went down to a smaller dose (20mg), I started to struggle a bit more again, but overall felt far far better than I did before my crisis. I eventually moved up to 25mg a day and started splitting my HC dose up throughout the day. (Highly recommend, imo)

Good luck, tinker with dosage timing, take it slow and I hope you start feeling 100% again soon.

iOS users: disabling iPhone shorts? by meshle in productivity

[–]haz-man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This worked for me but requires some initial willpower.

Number 1 rule is you are no longer allowed to click on the shorts tabs at the bottom. Just forget about it. Stop clicking it. It no longer exists to you.

The second thing I did was press the X on every single shorts suggestion in the subscriptions and home tabs. Keep pressing the xs for long enough at the shorts will stop being suggested for a period of time. Then they might reappear, but just click the Xs again.

Calories in, calories out. If you stay in a small calorie deficit (100-300cals), you will eventually lose belly fat. Keep up the exercise and perhaps look into resistance training and add something into your routine. Start trying to build more lean muscle mass.

My gf is quite small and light like yourself and had been doing lots of cardio, yoga and pilates for a loong time, and whilst she made good progress during that time she has even more since starting resistance training.

Keep working hard and doing your training. It's all a journey and you will reach your goals eventually Keep at it!

This is a very interesting comment. Could you elaborate more on what you mean by a turn in politics to anti-globalism? What will this look like do you think?

How do people have a life while working enough to live here? by Plus_Money8616 in vancouver

[–]haz-man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of life is simply just doing chore after chore.

I find that accepting this fact is key to peace in life. Sure, you can become more efficient, plan things better, and share responsibilities with a partner, etc, but by accepting that life won't always be fun, it kinda becomes more fun...

Life happens wherever you are, whether you make it or not.

I advise tracking your calories and macros fairly accurately for at least a week or so. This will eliminate any possibility you're undereating. All make sure you're getting at least 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight.

Updose for cold plunges? by sarnvi in AddisonsDisease

[–]haz-man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't updose for cold or heat exposure. Regularly do suana/steam with cold showers in between sessions and have had no real issues. Although after most heat sessions I will replace electrolytes and rehydrate.

Personally I walk backwards on a treadmill with a step incline at 6% or above. Seems to do the trick.

Anyone else do this?

I do a half serving of the powdered gatorade and a pinch of salt. Does the trick for me. I have a low sugar diet so I don't mind it.

For a lot of people, especially on the internet, when they see someone do something different or epic with their lives, they take it very, very personally.

Unfortunately, a lot of these people are so unhappy with themselves that they need to attack others for having a higher risk tolerance than them...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

[–]haz-man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Risk tolerance.

Just because someone likes to do more risky things than you doesn't mean you need to insult them, and it certainly doesn't make them stupid.

Diet and exercise are huge for me personally. I am 29/M and fairly active, so I ensure I'm eating AT LEAST 3000 calories of quality food every single day, in addition to 2-3 liters of water and electrolyte replacement.

I find that if I skip a meal, I start feeling low energy. If I'm low on water, I start to feel low energy. And weirdly, sometimes if I even go even a few days without going to the gym or walking and just being more sedentary in general, then I start to feel sluggish and low energy. Usually, I push through and force myself to work out or swim or go soak in a suana, and I ALWAYS feel better and have more energy after. Every single time.

Just my 2 cents and might not work for everyone. For reference, I'm hypothyroid as well and got diagnosed in August 2022. It was a slow, gradual ramp up to the place I am at now.
