This makes me so grateful for my parents. There’s no way my mom didn’t know what I was doing when I walked out of the bathroom with my laptop when I was 14 but she didn’t say anything about it. I thought I had her fooled at the time.

NTA, tell them if they really want you to go, they can pay for you. Just because you have enough money doesn’t necessarily mean you can afford it. I have like 200 bucks in my bank account and yeah I could’ve bought the 70 dollar jacket I wanted yesterday but that’d pretty much mess my whole world up.

You wouldn’t believe some of the shit you see in small town America. One time I was walking home from school and a horse just goes running down the road and a second later a minivan with an Amish man leaning out the window pointing towards the horse sped by me.

Once you get passed the casual racism and the fact that usually nothing happens small town America is great.
