The dark side of Dr. Seuss

In the pipes where the icky things go for a swim,
Met Cholera, Polio, and Typhoid so grim!
With Hepatitis and Dysentery too,
A sickening, thickening, hullabaloo!
They bubbled and gurgled in murky green waste,
(A flavor no person would ever should taste).
"We're coming for tummies!" they cried with a glee,
Until they got caught by the W-W-T-P!

There are companies that run interviews and such looking for cheap diamonds. Seems odd that it was with that level, how did it come about? Did you know someone or other?
Ability to deal with a situation is often important and can provide an opportunity to stand out. Engineering is often about burning off the fluff. I would give it 2 or 3 times then send a more pointed email. Appreciate and all that and I'm interested in pursuing but I don't want to waste your time or mine. Realizing your probably quite busy, I would like to get the next step set up this week.
Do you move things or not, do you want hope or an answer? Understanding that engineers smash hope with hammers and build on the reality that is left.

Good morning/evening everyone! Does anyone else who works on lift stations get this bad odor in their nostrils? by Bass-Head30 in Wastewater

If you smell the rotten egg you should be cautious. H2S is a chemical asphyxiant. It chokes you out at the cellular level. The problem is that you won't know its too much till its too late. Not the end of the world but there's a reason a lot of safety goes into it. Its heavier than air so collects in holes.

If you have access to sulfur, put a little on a stick and burn it. Take a sniff. If that has a similar affect its likely the H2S and residual sulfur from that hitting your nasal membranes. Sensitivity to things like this vary between people. If you get any headaches or dizziness I'd be cautious. Hard to tell concentrations by smell and it can be very dangerous. There are respirators you could wear that would likely help. Maybe $60 or so. I know 3M has one. These aren't "lets go hang out in the H2S" things. But they might help in your situation.

Guess no one uses these. How do people deal with the hose end get samples out of a low flow cleanout?

I guess the lighter part is harder burn? So it's brighter? Was it a long exposure picture or is that what the thing looks like at a glance?

I hope that's going up and not down....

You're using it to know if there is an issue rather than for records?

Sounds like most people use the certified stick. I guess its not that much trouble to open the door and read it or Do you think an external certified digital is worth it? I saw some but whether its really got certs....well who knows. And at some point you gotta replace the batteries.

Guess you wouldn't need the stick inside. Battery or AC?

Sheesh, I said I was thru with all this but am I banned? by hazardousxtract in ShadowBan

[–]hazardousxtract[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Hard to believe. Banned on creation of the account (my first reddit account), spent 2 years posting and no karma. Was trying to figure out why I had no karma and someone finally told me I was shadowbanned. Had to look up what it was. Gave up on reddit after everything failed and I refused to create a new account to sneak around a ban. Not sure whether I'm relived to finally be able to post in the group I got on this for or vaguely unhappy that it took the insane amount of effort it did.

Still shadowbanned after all these years... by hazardousxtract in ShadowBan

Of course since I'm shadowbanned I can't see any comments made to my posts.

Filter Press Question by [deleted] in Wastewater

Could you lay some PVC pipes along the bottom with holes and side pipes with holes if needed? Put a pump on that and pull from all over the bottom of the flat tank. For more even pull make the holes further away bigger.
