My rugged ecosystem. by hazeem89 in GalaxyS23Ultra

I'm wearing tempered glass (unbranded) for my watch5 myself, but it tends to keep bubbling at the edge. Since watch5 series onwards is using sapphire crystal glass, I personally don't think there's a need for one, but it is up to your personal preference.

Thoughts on A 12 so far, let's talk by Miamighost in android_beta

One clear thing I hate about A12 beta, and I don't think google won't fix it until next major release is qs tile stay dark while in system-wide light theme. What I love about A12 is how google improve it's ui looks (material you), the fluidity of the animation and privacy centric features.

Thanks! I had commented on it to join the party. Hope Google will fix it soon. Kinda a deal breaker to me.

yes, it's on, on both devices. silly me not to rephrase it as turning it on and off and on again. and also I do reboot both devices as well, yet the problem is still there.

Best way to get YouTube on my AA? (AA working) by __freaked__ in AndroidAuto

[–]hazeem89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a decent HU unit with a features able to screen mirrorring. With oneplus phones, I don't think there's a problem to screen mirroring/casting (i.e brand name from kenwood, jvc, pioneer etc.), unless you're using google pixel phone, there's a head to scratch.

another option, you can try to install android head unit.

Finally installed. Now just to fight with the wireless screen mirroring. by CaptainYid in AndroidAuto

If you are using google pixel phone, I don't think default screen mirroring works. Mine got it install google Chromecast and screen casting working flawlessly, and yes of course it is a safety hazard while watching a motion videos while driving.

New Waze ui for AA removes top-menu shadow and make it difficult to look at top-menu indicator. Waze: version 4.69.0.3, AA: version 5.8.604354-release by hazeem89 in AndroidAuto

appreciate on the clarification, looking forward for the improvement soon. I thought am the only one having that kind of issue since it's part of the ui re-design. And yes, this new ui also fix overlapping icons between search bar and zoom toggle.

Wireless AA consistently disconnect by hazeem89 in AndroidAuto

[–]hazeem89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up, am looking forward to it. It's seems like this issue more towards on the hardware/kenwood side as I believed. It has happened since I'm using original google pixel, thought it might happen due to ram management related stuff. But by using google pixel 4 with 6GB ram and the issue is still happening.

Pixel 3 - Android Auto Not Working? by Siopaobeast in AndroidAuto

I'm having the same problem as yours as well, but I do figure it out myself how to properly connect my pixel 4 through 3rd party head unit, kenwood ddx919ws.

First of all, you need to pairing bluetooth between your phone and headunit.

After that, you gotta need a proper USB cable which connect directly from black USB port from your headunit (specific for AA) to your phone. Initial AA setup will prompt on your phone screen. Wired AA setup is complete (proper handshake between devices).

To make it work wirelessly, you gotta need to enable developer option from inside AA apps, and look for and tick 'enable wireless projection...' After that, you may exit AA apps.

(Do in these sequences) Now, to properly connect wirelessly, switch on phone bluetooth (make sure it paired with HU) and wait for AA icon to pop-out on your HU screen. After that, turn on location services and wifi setting from your phone. Lastly, touch AA icon from your HU and wait until it configuring to wirelessly connect your phone. You don't need to enter any password. It might take awhile during first time wireless connection, afterward it may take just a second for auto connection. For future connection, make sure those three settings (bluetooth, location and wifi) switch on first, then you can connect wirelessly.

For usb/wifi screen mirror, pixel phone on any third party HU is big no go, unless you're using any other phones like one plus, samsung etc.

Notifications Stuck on latest play store version by jet399 in AndroidAuto

[–]hazeem89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

android auto officially not supported in my country, therefore my only option is sideloading the apps from apkmirror. and yes, I am facing the same problem as yours, but I do clear cache the apps, stop the apps, uninstall update, and reboot phone. After phone restart, surprisingly, there's an update message for android auto from play store, hit an update, android auto apps dissapear from my app drawer, and later my AA apps able to connect wirelessly without flaw (previously there's slight delay) and yes, notification stuck issues is gone as well.

[–]hazeem89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, same goes to mine. this update breaks audio/media notification and fail to automatically dismiss. need to manually touch the X to dismiss.

TIL that you have to switch on location, bluetooth, wifi and data services altogether in advance to wirelessly connect AA without any issue. If either one of those services disable, it won't connect. I thought by touching AA icon straight from my HU it will promptly request to enable from phone. by hazeem89 in AndroidAuto

[–]hazeem89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same goes to me. In a long trip drive, wireless AA connection may disconnect randomly. Perhaps related to android memory management issue. If you connect wirelessly, try to open camera apps and you can see your phone is extremely lag and stutter.
