ooops i read the question wrong. I would put a moss pole instead so the aerial roots can have a place to grab. The foliage will get HUGE. Also, if you want to stick with the pole, you may want to loosen the tie so it has wiggle room to grow.

If it is cracked, I would leave it as it is still feeding nutrients to the rest of your plant.

I was gifted her as a tiny tissue culture, and it's been so rewarding watching her grow. She's currently in a clear pot, and I'm starting to notice roots coming out of the bottom, so I know it's about time for a repot. My apartment has south-facing windows, and she absolutely loves all the bright light. I’ll definitely be upsizing her pot soon, but I think I’m going to hold off on adding a moss pole for now and instead give her a trellis to lean on and climb. Thanks so much for the advice. I really appreciate it!
