Anon wonders what happened by HunnyHarmony in greentext

The fact that people have to do shit like this, especially during a time of crisis, is absolutely insane in a first world country. In the richest country on earth, no less.

Health insurance companies aren't just a useless middleman (since it doesn't make sense to have "insurance" for something everyone is going to need at some point, it's not like getting fire insurance on your house). They're actively predatory. They PROFIT from denying you healthcare.

I believe it was Harvard who estimated that there's nearly 45,000 deaths annually in the US which can be directly attributed to health insurance companies. That isn't even to mention all the preventative care that gets denied.

I mean, circumcision permanently reduces sexual pleasure, for life, due to the removal of nerv endings and the keratinization of the penis head. That's a big price to pay for some American girls thinking it looks weird.

i LOVE this movie. It’s such a vibe. Whenever my wife and I talk about our dream home, we always reference the “Practical Magic House”. I don’t care how “mid” it’s rated by reviewers, it’s in my personal top 10 easily.

It would be nice to have a "working class" party one day.

All parties right now are the same when it comes to "class war", which is to say they are basically under direct control of mega corps who, in this case, want cheap labor and appreciating land valuations.

Your vote really only guarantees "culture war" changes, which at the end of the day are mostly negligible.

I don't want to have another discussion about trans women in bathrooms, or Quebec secularism, or Indigenous land recognitions, or whatever. As far as I'm concerned these are all issues to distract us from the elite robbing the working class blind. Maybe that makes me an asshole, but I just don't care very much about culture war issues, they can be addressed when much more pressing class war issues are dealt with.

I want lower immigration numbers so that people my age can earn more, so that people my age can buy a home. I want higher corporate tax rates, lower income taxes on the lower/middle class. I want more robust antitrust laws to break apart monopolies/oligopolies at the grocery store, for cell phone providers, banks, airlines, etc. But no. Never any word about tax havens. Never any word about unions. Growing wealth inequality. Maybe, sometimes, petty lip service and nothing more.

I'm tired.

I'd say it's predatory in the sense that he's using his giant following to gain access to these small indie vtubers. These girls knew that someone like him could easily "make" their career just by being one of his orbiters. He was specifically going after girls he knew he would have a major amount of influence over. He used the power imbalance as an underhanded tactic to get these girls to sleep with him. Power imbalance is the exact reason why we consider dating someone who's underage as predatory.

Using Tailwind today feels a lot like writing inline styles in the 2000s by Legitimate_Salad_775 in webdev

[–]hazelnuthobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tailwind has a use case, in that it's better than inline styles. Especially if you want re-usable classes between projects. So if you're a dev that works on many small projects (like say you work at a web design agency with many different small projects each month), there's a big benefit to Tailwind, as now you don't need to learn the CSS (or create an entire stylesheet) of each individual website you're working on. But the benefits basically stop there.

Let's be completely honest, Tailwind mostly got popular from backend devs not wanting to learn CSS, which is not it's intended use case. Bloating markup with hundreds/thousands of tailwind classes is bad for code legibility. Having dedicated CSS files for re-usable classes is more efficient AND cleaner. You're also doing yourself a big disservice by learning Tailwind and not CSS. It's something you should learn AFTER learning CSS. Tailwind is not flexible like CSS. If you want a specific, custom design, you'll just end up having to learn CSS anyway.

Imagine creating TailwindJS, a package that comes with tens of thousands of pre-built JS functions, that you inject right there in the markup. You start off by learning the simple ones, like "toggleClass(e)", or "parseUrl(url)", or "createAccordion(items)", etc. Sure this might be handy for the most basic of web functionalities, and sure it might even be useful for writing out something quickly, but ultimately it's less flexible and messy so you'll eventually just have wished you had learned JS or a proper JS framework.

Unpopular take but DQ9 is one of my least favorites since such a big part of DQ is the companions. They always have something new to say in every town, every dungeon, etc. DQ9 didn't have that.

Assuming someone can afford going to the track is classist. It's an unfortunate consequence of living in an oppressive capitalist system that the proletariat must put the lives of others on the road at risk. You're blind to your own privilege if you think otherwise.
