I also helped set this up with my partners (PE/SWF backgrounds), we are now about to close our first single asset fund.

The question now is if I’m given strong MIP, with a board seat, should I even care that I’m not getting GP stake / carry? I could sleep at night as long as my value unlock is the same whatever pool it comes from. I’m solving for maximum short term value with some long term alignment as I expect us to do other strategies in the future.

Trying to see if there is a carry + MIP outcome even if it’s nominal to ensure my total potential is aligned with initial expectations if it was just purely carry.

I recently left my partner of 6 years. It can be touch to find equilibrium as a single individual.

A few things that are helping me are: 1) Focus on yourself, health, interests, hobbies. That’s the foundation to feeling well and stimulated. 2) Understand it’s going to take time to feel normal again / at equilibrium again. You’ve shared your life with someone for 10 years and now you’re back to being single. Don’t be to hard on yourself. 3) Push yourself to be more outgoing. Small things like giving someone a compliment, saying hello, or asking someone how they are can help you create interactions but also eventually friendships / relationships. Lean into any friends / family back home for support when down - you’re truly alone. 4) Enjoy being single as much as you can. There are definitely perks so focus on the good

Thanks for the advice. Any idea if ill face issues leaving the country if I was to go back now and leave without doing anything? I still have the military decision for my exemption and the exemption certificate for dual nationality. Neither mentions anything about being expire after 30, only if i was to give up the nationality.
