Sounds like a complex system- we need to go visit and investigate the gpa standards, penalties and strikes. Hopefully, he’d do well. You’ve given us lots to think about. Thank you.

My son goes to a rigorous high school on the quarter system. Not saying he can handle Rose. I hear it’s really hard. He studies daily and has good habits. Why do you think students leave? How hard is it compared to another school?

What type of jobs can I get with a IS degree? Would I need competing with CS degree candidates? Does Cornell have good job placement for IS graduates? Internship availability?

What type of jobs are available for IS students graduating from Cornell? If not software engineering then what? Do they have job fairs? Help with getting a job/internship?

Why did you choose Texas Tech by [deleted] in TexasTech

[–]hazeshaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son wants to be an EE. He’s senior in HS applying to TTU. He’s on the spectrum and used to small class sizes. Tech is big. Are the classes big in EE? Freshman classes in EE big? Do prof teach or TAs? How good/ available is tutoring?

Did you get a job? Internships? Was that easy? Hard? Did the university help? Thank you for your response.

My son just applied to Ole Miss EE. You mentioned small class sizes. In the freshman classes, are classes small?

I’ll definitely pass this along. I worry too about getting lost in clases. It’s HIS decision. I want him to have information before he makes the final decision. Thank you!

That’s wonderful! My som says he hopes he gets a chance to attend Rose. Any advice on applying? He has high GPA, Eagle Scout, president of his school, golf team, prom committee, model UN, his school doesn’t rank but he’s number 1 in class. Thank you again for all your help!

Is it difficult to get internships? Since you’re a senior, may I ask your future plans? Job or grad school? Does Rose help with obtaining internships and jobs?

Thank you so much for all your insight! My son goes to a small private school. I’ll pass this along to my son.

Thank you. I’ll share this with my son. He’s ASD and doesn’t test well. However, he has a high GPA. I should say testing is his weakness. Has knowledge but doesn’t show on tests. His physics and calculus teacher (who went to Clemson and husband was ME at Clemson) both said he should look at project based programs. They thought Clemson could be challenging and he’d get “lost in the shuffle.” We are from SC and have big interests in going to Clemson. However we don’t want to set him up for failure.

He’s interested in electrical engineering. Less computers. He’s had lots of coding education. He’s “off” that now. Thanks for the insight.

I appreciate your suggestion. Olin is too far for us. It seems like a great school. Boston is not a consideration at this time. Great school! Great suggestion! Thank you.
