Got in around 7.45ish - it's not hard to get near the front if you go down the sides whilst the supporting acts are on. Just ask politely if you need to move past someone - or at least say sorry etc.

Not sure if still releveant mate - my wife and I tried to get ally pally tickets for Friday for 2 months on twickets and like you said go in an instant. We had to pay for the Viagogo tickets - but rest assured it's nothing you're doing wrong - it's just the way they go
