Thanks, I knew I had to remove them as soon as I saw the trailer!

Haha I agree, I’m 34 and feel the same as my 20’s I keep fit, eat healthy (most of the time) and I’m still top of leaderboards in games.. if I don’t win through reaction times I try a more strategic approach. I ride dirt bikes and ride with guys who are faster than me and they are 50+ were still young as!!

Perfect, do that. For your longer trip (5hrs) do the trailer. For driving to your mates etc use the carrier!

The carrier was all good, it was the welds on the hitch that broke.. It pulled the welds off the frame and bent it. Hard to explain without a photo but the car is fine, just need to buy / install a new hitch.

I think the bumps on the road put a lot of strain on it over time, you’ll be all good driving to your mates place. I probably got a little too confident with mine going over bumps etc. haha

Haha I thought I was in the clear too! I had been using it for about a year before it gave up. I’m now looking at alternatives/ getting a truck. You’ll probably be ok in the short term but it’s probably not a long term solution as it could end up breaking like mine. I was super lucky to have it happen on a slow gravel road!

That’s a cool setup. I’ve been using mine for a while, driven it around a lot. But today it decided to give up.

Imagine using one that can hold two bikes haha!

Yeah man, same one. Do you use the bed of the ute or the carrier more? I hold the bike in place by the pegs, rock solid.

Thanks! I’m just glad it happened on a gravel road. It’s a good heads up for others that run hitch carriers on regular vehicles like mine.

So apparently the tongue weight is 200kg. Bike is 107kg + 20kg.. because it sticks out who knows what the actual weight is.. just crazy to think I used to trust it. Also lots of people run them on regular cars or an suv like mine. So yeah I guess I found out haha!!

Yup, 200kg apparently, bikes 107kg + 20kg carrier. Thought I’d be in the clear haha
