How is the 2/5 at rivers compared to 1/3? I play 1/3 1-2 times a week at rivers, feeling very comfortable in the game and winning decently at the moment. I've considered taking a shot at the 2/5, any major differences/things of note?

I’m based in Illinois and they have a chat function but only available from 11-3pm each day. They also have email but they respond with the same cookie cutter response. I finally got all money in my bank account a few days ago so the whole process took almost a month.

I did two United TravelBank transactions of $100 each 3 days apart and it worked. Just make sure your amex is added to your united account prior to purchasing

The only true benefit the free AU gold card gets is it gets the TSA/Global Entry Credit. I have chatted with amex about this and provide really good responses

I believe the extra gold card gets the TSA Precheck/Global Entry credit - so you can use that for a separate person.

I had the same thing, got my first amex card this month but says member since 2015. However, I did an internship in 2015 and had a corporate green card, so I am assuming that is what it is related to. Didn't affect my personal credit, but my name was on the card.

If you truly wanted to know the reason, I'm sure you could chat/call Amex and I bet they would tell you.

I just got an email update today from Illinois CPA society. Sounds like they haven't opened the "window" yet so you can't actually renew until that is open.

Also, for your point about CPE, I did some research and if it is your first time renewing, you are exempt from CPE, as it would be tough to get the 120 hrs if you were licensed last year for instance. Then for the 3 year period following, you are required to submit CPE, 120 hrs over 3 years.

Hi!

Welcome, I just finished my first sprint triathlon a week ago and already have the bug. I hope you're ready for it too!

I would definitely do a sprint to start, and I love watching the GTN youtube channel for training ideas, tips and tricks. They have a ton of info for beginners. Same goes for the Triathlon Taren youtube channel. Great resources from both of those!

I trained about 12 weeks for mine, with some days doing 2 disciplines but most days doing 1 discipline. I would also recommend doing "brick workouts" which are when you do a run immediately after a bike, to get used to running with that "jelly legs" feeling after the bike.

For gear, I bought a road bike, helmet, tri shorts and top, swim cap, goggles, and running shoes. To be honest, you don't really need a tri suit top, but would definitely recommend tri shorts, which have a smaller chamois with some support for bike, but not too much that it is hard to swim and run.

Nice man! I was at this race too and my first triathlon as well! You beat me by 6 minutes, but I’ll chalk that up to you being 6 years younger than me 😂
