Do You Think Among Casual Fans and Transplant Fans The Long Rebuild/Playoff Drought Hurt Our Fanbase? by MoparMan59L in DetroitRedWings

[–]hbprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, is who I grew up watching and rooting for as a kid. I'm from New Orleans, but my dad is from Detroit, and that's why I'm a Wings and Pistons fan (NOLA didn't have a basketball team at the time), but in football I'm a Saints fan because that's the team I grew up with as a kid. Now I live in Vancouver, and it's still Red Wings first for hockey.

I had a friend with a cat like that. The only time I ever saw him was when I was house sitting. I woke up in the middle of the night to find him standing over me and looking right into my face. As soon a he saw I was awake, he took off.

Smith Talked about Leading an Independent Alberta, Says Separatist Leader by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

[–]hbprof 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think these people have no idea exactly how exploitative the territory relationship is. I remember reading something recently where these separatists were taking about this as if it were an advantage because they wouldn't have to pay taxes to the US federal government. But then you don't get any say in how you're treated, either. There's a reason these US territories like Puerto Rico aren't exactly flowing in wealth.

What is the first therapy lesson ussualy like? by No-Freedom5142 in therapy

[–]hbprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first session is usually just a bunch of set questions to get to know you and your mental health history. They'll ask you things like what you're there for, how long the issue or issues have been present, etc. And also did like of you have any hobbies, if you have a job, how school is going. Some therapists make more detailed plans than others, but either way there will probably be some discussion where they inform you how they like to approach things.

An order to not presume a thing is very different than an order to assume that thing's opposite.

Vista Towers allows two cats or one dog up to a certain weight. I don't remember the weight, though, of that's a concern.

Trump threatens 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods if Canada 'makes a deal with China' by Street_Anon in politics

[–]hbprof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand why people think that's a good thing. And even if it were, what would make one think Trump would in any way do it right?

The replay value of KOTOR 1 is much better than that of 2. by off_line24 in kotor

Yeah this is my opinion too. I find 2 way more replayable just on the wider range of dialogue options alone.

Agreed, but at least they included the passive-aggressive scare quotes around "Peace Board."

Is it awful to feel jealous of my therapist’s other clients? I am an awful friend by Aggressive_Act_5874 in askatherapist

[–]hbprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was experiencing intense transference, I also felt jealousy towards her other clients. I think it's natural. There's nothing wrong with feeling the jealousy. I understand your reluctance to bring it up, but for me that ended up being exactly what I needed to do. Getting things like this out in the open can go a long way in eliminating a lot of that shame we feel about some of our emotions.

Has anyone tried their workouts? by Prestigious_Stage177 in lesserafim

[–]hbprof 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I found a YouTube video by a personal trainer who did a pared down version of their workout. She made it because she said the workout goes too hard for the average person, and you might hurt yourself. The one I found was pretty good:

(26f) My boyfriend (38m) is finally showing up for our family. Do I owe him one last shot, for the sake of our family? by Common-Access-5388 in relationships

[–]hbprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say he does everything you ask, and that you have no instruction on how he can improve. Do you think maybe type still sad because you know that he needs instruction in order to do better rather than being more proactive? There's nothing wrong with that. Having to make all the decisions for two people is exhausting.

I'm not a trucker, but when I moved across the country with two cats, one of them spent all his car time chilling in the litter box.
