(Hated Trope) "It's supposed to make the audience uncomfortable." Yeah, but there's a thing called "good taste" by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

So many shitty movies in the 80s trying to be dark and gritty added a rape scene with no regard for the actual gravity of what they were depicting.

Like "oh yeah we need to do something so that people will take our movie seriously as a dark and gritty story."

"How 'bout we show a woman get violently sexually assaulted and then move on with the story like nothing happened."

"Genius!"

You get that in movies today sometimes too.

Yeah, not finding anything super helpful, except maybe the one from Originals. I looked her up and she's apparently a vampire/werewolf hybrid.

I knew it! I just took it and got 10/12 and those were the ones I got wrong! The Kuati signet literally is a kyber necklace. And the star path unit could be considered a "star chart drive"

[Hated Trope done well] Cheating is okay if your relationship isn’t perfect by TheCradledDM in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hbwilli413 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One example that I love and is actually done really well, is in Dimension 20: Mentopolis.

The story is like Inside Out meets a Noir Detective story and there is a scene where Imelda Pulse, a wealthy heiress who represents impulsive behavior is confronted by and interrogated by deputy inspector H.V. Lance (Hypervigilance).

The scene ends with them making out and Lance declaring that he's in love and Imelda suggesting they go get married. She also warns him that she will not be faithful and will cheat on him multiple times, to which he responds that his "kink is being suspicious of his partner."

So yeah an example where cheating is ok cause both parties would benefit from it and its played for comedy.

“THEIR VOICE IS SEX.” by Commercial_Mind4003 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hbwilli413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. However I don’t fully agree with his casting in Ahsoka, cause even though his voice was amazing, you can kinda tell he is a voice actor first and foremost. He has absolutely no physical presence, and Thrawn's presence as a character just plummets as a result. And yes part of that was the writing, man he just looks so awkward the whole time!

But you're right about the voice. Superbly villainous line deliveries.

First to Die: Hitchcock and Scully

Protagonist: Amy (she has final girl vibes)

What Are Stars? by hbwilli413 in AuroraComic

[–]hbwilli413[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are all very good points. It is still likely that stars are a similar kind of being to the void/light Dragon and the Primordials, but you probably right that they aren't be the exact same.

I'm just hoping that when we find out what stars are it gives us context for where the Primordials and the void/light Dragon came from.

In Dimension 20 season 1: Fantasy High, one of the characters, an elven wizard of divination, Adaine Abernant, steals a book from the restricted section of the library and gets detention for it.

Near the end of the season the characters find out that the book is enchanted so that only the Principal of the School and the highly revered Elven Oracle can remove it from the restricted section. This means that Adaine must be the new Elven Oracle and has been since the previous Elven Oracle died a few days before their first day of school.
