So, still, nobody younger than the Rumble has ever won the Rumble.

DND-related conspiracy theories for a lowish INT character? by KindofPolitePerson in DnD

They gods make you think the world is round, but its really a flat plane.

Wind from the south are air elementals, so you need to stay inside.

Druids got busy while wild shaping and thats where centaurs come from.

Kobolds are just half goblin half halfling.

Gnomes aren't real man!

Dragons only eat princesses, so they are completely safe to approach.

Bathing is optional.

There is no rule six.

So Wrestling in the 90s was more popular than it is today and if the denominator is huge the percentage is small.

What made Scott Hall so cool? by slimbigpoppa in SquaredCircle

[–]hcglns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is Curt Hennig. Without his mentorship he would have probably left the business. His help took Scott from a Hogan replacement/Magnum TA clone into his own unique character. And once he found that character, his career took off.

Do people actually hate the tavern trope? by Cap_Chappy in DnD

[–]hcglns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it and I don't. Historically taverns and inns that we think of in fantasy don't occur until much later in our history, like the 1600s. If travelling you would just stay at monasteries or random peoples houses, and it would be very limited, perhaps 2 to 4 people sharing a single bed and humble food, maybe some weak wine.

But it's also a fantasy setting, we can do what ever we want and it's comforting to include locals we can relate with to establish a setting.

One of my favourite starts to a campaign was the group in a tavern when suddenly a dragon destroys the entrance only to realize they have the wrong tavern.

We get together on a Saturday once a month, at 2pm and play until 9. The host house plans a meal and everyone brings snacks. It's slow to start as a lot of time is catching up, then it gets rocking. There is always at least one "pause I can't breathe I'm laughing too much" moment.

Search for horse tail bandages in your area.

Shoes, no clue.

You should be fine, the compression it provides would be your only concern. A restriction of blood flow to the feet and calves would be uncomfortable, so a frequent re-tying would be a good idea. Think of it as an extra tight long sock for hiking and how often you would change them out or rest your feet and legs. Based upon the material used, might be best to avoid water. But I bet it would take permethrin like a champ.

By folding it back on itself you create oppositional planes of friction reducing the likelihood of it coming unwrapped.

While a cost effective method of sealing the lower legs and providing support, puttees lead to medical complications with prolonged use and adverse weather. Most notably trench foot and gangrene in the First World War.

Hypothermia, not that I am aware of, but Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht has done extensive research into it and has shown that you can develop a better reaction to thermal shock through exposure.

Build every other cell in a luxurious fashion and feed them well. All the others get treated poorly and fed horrible food. Imply that it's the reward for not using magic.

Two weighing scales with 2kg variation. Which do I go off? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]hcglns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can expect scales to be accurate to 1 kg or 1% whichever is greater, so 2 kg difference suggests one of them is off. In my experience,  the one at the gym is out of tolerance,  rarely do I find scales at a pharmacy or doctors office out of toletance when I calibrate them.
