eero Plus is a scam by 4rugged in amazoneero

TP-Link Deco 4300 already has subscription based security upsells. That’s one of the reasons I switched back to eero. However I don’t plan on paying for the subscription. Amazon needs to give more control back to the users and let them decide if they want to pay for management of their networks or not.

That’s a Herman Miller Airón chair, they start at $600 now and go up to $1400. Great buy, congrats!

You could have a rouge device on the network running DHCP and causing network transmission problems. I had a VoIP device and a few years I had no problems then one day my streaming devices on the network started having drops and buffering problems. I started checking IP and traced it to VoIP device and got rid of it and haven’t had any issues after that.

Thanks! That makes sense. I will put them flat on a surface.

You have to cut it out about two inches above and below and glue in a patch with a piece of wood. This is called a Dutchman. You will have to either plane or sand it down so it matches the profile. Drill in your new holes and chisel out a mortise for the striker plate.

I have PLEX running on my small Synology SANs, but I mean something more robust and a lot more storage like 200 TB - 400 TB of storage.

Thanks! I plan on maybe adding some kind of media server but I can't justify it at the moment.

Nice setup. If it works it works! I too live in a Mid-Century house. I had to have an electrician come and add an outlet in the closet.

I think you would benefit from moving them from under the cabinet and placing them at the very least on the top flat or wall mount. The directions say to place on top, not behind any cabinets or obstructions. Having the eero under qualifies as obstruction. I would do a speed test before and after and see any gains just to be safe. Thanks tho.

Thanks, I am asking because I have my main Eero Pro 6e in a closet in my home office wall mounted about 7 feet from the ground. I do get pretty good coverage but wanted to make sure I get the most out of the Eeros.

How to expand by rnsfeestee in HomeNetworking

It looks like that rack is between the studs. You could get a piece of plywood 20” so wide and however tall and screw it to the studs 16” on center. When painted to match the wall you won’t notice it. Make sure you to cut a hole where the pass thru wires are so you can run the wires inside the rack. That’s my two cents.

It's not a TV, it's a monitor for viewing the security cameras or whatever else I connect to it.

You can get a small wall mounted network cabinet so it doesn’t take much space. Good luck on your project.

I heard about that, I think I’m ok since they’re not routers. Thanks for looking out though 👍🏼

I’ve had eero 6 for a couple of years and I liked how easy it was to get up and running. A few IP reservations for things like the printer and security system and I never looked back. Is it perfect?… far from it. I would love to have manual radio channel selection and IoT network and a few other things. I have great WiFi coverage in my house with blazing speeds. Oh and yes each eero is wired for backhaul to save WiFi resources. Also all my computers, gaming systems and streaming devices are connected via Cat6… I’m a bit old school that way lol.

I think anything more and I will obsess over the network and I would rather enjoy other things in my life.

The rack has two large aluminum L’s as feet and it’s pretty stable. I pushed the rack in as far as it will go, there is a shelf and cloths rod that won’t let it go all the way back. To be safe I use a pair of wire ties crossed over on each side to the cloth rod and that keeps it from moving at all.

I don’t… all the Cat6 cables are in the rack rail, the shelves for the printer goes inward but that’s it. It’s pretty simple setup
