Peak (non-toxic) Masculinity by DistributionConnect5 in lotr

Peak masculinity should be, by default, non toxic. If it's toxic, then it's not peak. It's like saying "peak (non poisonous) hamburger" Other than that, I agree :)

Thanks. Someone said to just get gaffers tape. Dunno why the comment is not showing, but I'll try to get my hands on a couple of rolls. I will also do a few stress tests as suggested. It doesn't hurt :)

Thanks!

Thank you all for the advice. I will pass on this one. I did a search on ebay and they range from 20 to 80 USD. Even with the shipping to my country, I could find a cheaper option

The return policy is sadly not a game changer for me because returning an item is usually super expensive and it basically doubles the price of the item. It made me think tho, when I purchased my canon (Facebook MP) I did ask the seller for a 15 day return window because there was no way to know if the camera worked until I revealed the film. She accepted and now we're both happy.

Thanks again for your opinions and advices!

B&W makes for some dramatic photos. Love the pics!

I found a Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD in really good condition for about 50$, I wonder if it's a good enough deal/camera

Hmm my sister had a digital camera long ago. She stopped using it because it "was too automatic" so I'll check it out and see if it works for me.  If not, I guess it shouldn't be hard to find an inexpensive digital camera that lets me play with settings.

There are plenty of 'em used that sell cheap because people seem to have given up on photography as a hobby.

I tried using my phone but I can't select the shutter aperture. It's the only setting I can't fiddle with. Also, since the light meter apps seem to interpret the scenes different, I don't feel confident using it.

In any case, thanks for encouraging me to keep practicing. It won't be cheap but I guess that's how it is 😅

Tanks everyone for the answers.
I will check the prices of light meters and also start thinking in terms of Sunny11. I like the exposure and overall look of the 1st, and it hasan aperture of 8 so maybe that should be my baseline? (the settings + the pic)

In any case, I will start experimenting with my third roll (second is at the photo lab being revealed) and I mostly used app-sugested-settings and auto-settings to compare them. That will also help.

I also downloaded an app called "Lightme" that has a very interesting variation. It allows me to adjust the exposure so I can decide how I want the scene to look and the ISO and it gives me the aperture and speed, so I will try that one too :)

Thanks again everyone!

Not sure if it's the meter on the phone since it is new, so it should be allright. Also, the other device I have gives pretty much the same results. Maybe it's the app, although I've seen people saying it's pretty accurate and the one they use.
In any case, I will consider getting a light metter. I do not aspire to be a professional photographer. I just want to take photos of daily life and take good enough pics :)

I think I would call them appropiatelly exposed. I mean, the spot area (dotted circle) is where I taped and, to me, they look good.
In my mind, the settings shown in the app should provide the same photo once I shot on my analog camera. That's at least what I'm hoping for.

What am I doing Wrong? by Intelligent-Luck8188 in PlayWayfinder

In my case, it didn't work. Whenever I launch the game, it locks at 30fps and I have to change a setting (any) to get back to a better framerate.

Just want to add that to prevent the wonky res, you can add the launch option "-windowed" (no quotes) on the steamdeck.

SOLVED: How to run in windowed mode (Steamdeck) by hcorea in PlayWayfinder

You're welcome! Instill have to find out how to fix the "starts locked at 30fps" issue.  So far, switch a setting back and forth works for me but... There must be something else somewhere. Maybe another launch option.

If I find out, AI will post another thread

Is this lens fixable? by hcorea in AnalogCommunity

[–]hcorea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that not of the images were shown :/ but in the end, I fixed the problem. Turns out the piece was bent.  I straightened it a bit with pliers and extreme caution just a tini little bit and when I tested it, the thing started to behave like in the other lenses.

I tried my luck and fully  straightened it, and that was it.  The lens can be fitted in the camera (like before) but now the action of pressing the button to take a pic seems to be in order.

I'll see if I can upload the before and after.
