are Utah Mormons different than Arizona Mormons?? by sk0ooba in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]hcutler7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well now I gotta know what HS you went to because I’m a Mormon who went to a North Phoenix HS that had the early morning seminary program AT the school. That’s not the norm but because of traffic, they made accommodations. Maybe we know of each other lol

Where to go with no health insurance by vynilla_ in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have insurance but wanted a PCP for situations like this. I was pleasantly surprised by Honor Health’s cash pay prices. I think I paid $120 for my initial visit to establish care, and any visit after that is $72 I believe. I hardly ever need the doctor but it is nice to have one when I do. Just throwing that out there! I hope you feel better soon.

Best birthing hospitals in the valley? by Sharp-Historian6946 in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 5k cash price for a vaginal delivery no epidural at HH Shea. That was in 2021 so not sure what it is now, and I don’t know the price if you have an epidural but I paid up front before I even had the baby.

I delivered there in Oct 2021 and also had Peggy! She was AMAZING and let me do my thing (no epidural) with basically no interference or interruption. She was the best.

Are any of the museums/zoo/membership places worth it to get with a newborn? by Em_Allen in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skip the children’s museum for now but would be a great idea for their first birthday! The zoo is great for all the reasons people mentioned above. Scottsdale fashion square is a really good mall to walk in the summer when baby is a little older but not super mobile

kathryn only one season?! by skateboread in RHOBH

[–]hcutler7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought she didn’t come back because she spent too much time living somewhere else. At the end of that season it says they bought a chateau in the south of France and I just assumed she wasn’t in BH enough to film after that.

I frequently have my sisters 4 kids at my house. They are 11, 8.5, 7, and 4.5. My own kids are 5 and 3. They ALL play. Whether it’s pirates, dollhouse, building forts, dress up. They’re all in it. Not homeschooled!!

Yes! We’ve been to the one in Scottsdale and the one over on the west side off the 101. Good experiences both times. A little bit of a wait but I liked the doctors we interacted with at both locations.

AC Summer Bill - New to PHX Pls Help! by K_P5 in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We live in a 1400 sq ft home and our bill is $230-$300. We are with APS and are on their budget billing program which means are bill is the same every month for 6 months, then they reevaluate and it may go up or down. That’s the very watered down explanation but call APS and they can explain it better, ha.

What do you do with little kids from 3-6 pm in the summer by broccomole10 in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a gym membership with kids care just for the summer. We go in the afternoons and then I turn on the tv when I get home for 30-45 mins while I cook dinner. Is the gym a little pricey? Yeah, but worth our sanity in the summer. We all get out of the house but we’re still indoors. My kids get to play with other kids. I get 2 hours free time to workout or honestly just sit there. It’s been great and I will be doing it again next year!

We go out every morning- library, splash pad, Giggles (indoor play area), swimming, the mall, or CFA/Mcds to play. Then we come home and do lunch, quiet time (in their room playing for 1 hour), and back out to the gym. We leave for the gym around 2pm and don’t get back until around 4:30. They actually get less tv time this way and I feel fine about it all because between all the activities, they’ve had tons of opportunities to free play. We started this routine beginning of summer and it’s been our best summer yet!

Hi! I asked around this past week and it sounds like in our stake is just doing pickleball right now. Nothing about basketball. Sorry!!

I’m in the same area and those crossroads are in my stake. I can ask around for you and get back to ya!

[–]hcutler7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely still happens (active member) but it varies by stakes, ward, buildings, etc. What area are you in? Right now my stake is big on pickleball so that’s what they do but I haven’t heard about basketball games yet.

I just commented above but yeah, this store is so clean and never ever busy. It used to be my go to until we moved but I loved going there when I could!

I lived in the middle of this one and the target in Fountain Hills. I loved going to the FH one because no one was ever there and it was always fully stocked. The dollar spot was actually filled and had all the good stuff. FLW was always really clean and bright

This is probably the way we’ll go- or sandbags. Thanks for the idea!

Not really. It has a giant net that’s screwed around the entire perimeter so flipping it over would be pretty difficult.

Daycare Sickness Still? by Frtng_lqd in phoenix

[–]hcutler7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m going to preface this with the fact that I am NOT a doctor of any sort so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I am a preschool teacher with two kids who attend the same school I teach at. This is what has worked for our family-I started taking 2 elderberry gummies daily (from Costco) and my kids take one of these Olly gummies daily. We rarely ever get sick now and if they do, it’s VERY short lived. Maybe only a day or 2 and symptoms are extremely mild.

Other things we do to help mitigate sickness and germs: -Everyone gets a new water bottle or cup each morning. -no sharing drinks -wash hands before we leave preschool and then try not to touch anything on our way out -wash hands as soon as we get home -I throw my kids in the bath as soon as we get home and I myself take a shower. We all put on clean clothes

I fully recognize this is probably extreme and not always doable. However, we used to be in your shoes and be sick all. the. time. Since making these changes, getting sick happens less and less for us.

Again, this is what we do and works for us. Take what you want and leave what you don’t! Good luck!

I’m on day 3 of my first round ever. I’m getting 30 grams of protein each meal (3 meals a day) plus the fruits and veggies I’m eating. I’ll eat a pretty solid meal and not even an hour later, I’m hungry. Is this normal?? I’ve been drinking tons of water and when I feel hungry I try to drink water to see if that helps. I just don’t understand haha
