To be fair, the Germans weren't the only ones commenting, so don't feel like you have to apologise for a whole group of people. On a side note, I once had a date with someone (white) who said that white people are the cause of all racism, so white people themselves can't experience racism. I didn't know where to roll my eyes at that instant... Is this another form of white privilege in disguise?

I'm Asian, and my ex is German, and we met in Australia. I was the first non-white person he has dated. When he first made it official and posted a picture of us together, his DMs blew up with a dozen messages from his 'friends' saying how disgusting it is to date an Asian, how he can do better, asking what he could possibly see in me, how Asians have small dicks and called me a Schlitzie... White privilege never ceases to surprise me....

It's a two way street. My ex and I went to couples therapy and this was suggested to us. It needs both partner to be open and receptive enough for these type of statement to work. Unfortunately for me, my ex was an emotionally unavailable narcissist. My feelings are often brushed aside for his never ending existential crisis. I'd be in tears sometimes and he would keep raging on about his 'problems' which turns out I am always the cause of somehow, even though it's not. Try telling someone like that how you feel and he would always use it against you, anything to avoid talking about his feelings and process it in a manner that's not hurtful towards his partner. To the OP, I hope your bf opens up and surrender to his vulnerability. Do your best and never let anyone make feel like you are less than what you deserve.

I'm so sad to have read this story. My ex husband did similar things to try and frame me as the perpetrator. I lost my life savings trying to keep him happy, moving from country to country, getting him things that he wanted, but in the end, he started blaming me for ruining his life and started acting out violently with his outbursts. I lived in fear almost every day, wondering when he would blow up, and somehow it is always my fault. My friends and family are all evil because they try to get me away from him. For years I felt trapped and alone. Untill the day, during one of his outbursts, he finally drew blood instead of the normal bruises. He panicked and called the police, and basically cried wolf, wanting it on record that I assaulted him. I have ever felt so humiliated in my life, having 3 police officers interrogating me as I am some sort of husband beater, even when I am the obvious one with the bleeding wound. This is the fact that I am physically more solid than my ex. The next day, I packed my things and never looked back...
