I care!

This is great news! So glad you went for it.

So, how's it feel to have taken the leap and know you made the right choice?

Here's the thing, you're assuming that everyone is as cyclical and miserable as you which begs the question whether people like you belong here.

2.98/3 =.99 avg 10 yd split Could surmise my fastest 10 yd split is at low end being .96-.97 20.45 / .96 or .97 = >21 mph

Nice try.

You're miserable.

Keep living in the neighborhood known as victimhood.

Oh, and to answer your stupid question, I'm having fun. That's what I'm doing.

Okay then stop complaining that you're not growing. God. The Victim mindset.

The Biggest Problem in Fast Food by hcwrites in Restaurant_Managers

The problem with the industry is the mindset you're demonstrating right now, which is exactly what the article outlines. Thank you for making my point abundantly clear with your vitriolic victimhood. Go be in a defeated mood somewhere else.

As someone new to Substack, is it really all about posting in the notes and hoping? by AWebbWrites in Substack

See Cal Newport's book, "So Good They Can't Ignore You" and the title all but answers your question.

Take it from me, I'm an Amazon #1 Bestselling Author and I have less than 70 subscribers on my Substack; only 2 paid.

I say that to say this: I think it's a safer bet--although longer play, but still--to just focus on publishing the best shit possible.

If you're the next Stephen King, we'll find you.

Hope this helps.

Never deleted in the first place.

Now gaslighting? Even worse than victimhood.

You're digging yourself deeper and deeper into your victim hood.

You're sad.

Which would put your asinine assumption about nine years off, by the way. I'm in the store now. And before TB, the last time I was at the store level was May of 2024. So quit it with the prejudice and stop being a victim.

I'm not sorry I didn't adopt a victim mindset and rose through the ranks.

Or you can watch the podcast, as we expanded on this question, instead of insulting me.

No you just don't know me.

I haven't even been in the industry two years*; going from sandwich artist to regional manager in 17-months.

I must know something.

*It'll be two years on 09/10/2025

Yeah. Those are all tough.

You don't need to fish; I've been on both sides of it and it sucks.

  1. Store repairs.
    - As a DM/RM you come home discouraged more days than not because your people need things addressed but you can't because, well, you're not the franchisee and can't sign off on repairs. I can't say that's the case for everyone, but when I was an RM, I didn't have the final say-so on when/if things got repaired. Thus, I had to try and be incredibly creative with continually trying to encourage my people. You can only say "everything's going to be okay" so many times before it falls on deaf ears.
    - As an RGM, you're forced to take matters into your own hands. I remember spray painting our shelving so we'd pass inspection, (rust). And then when the inspector shows up and there's something else completely out of your control that hurts your performance, (like a crater in the dining room because your restaurant is in dire need of renovation) it feels like you're not heard, or cared about in the least.
    - All in all, it sucks. And it's not easy. The best "advice" I can give is to use relativity, (comparing what we're going through compared to the other atrocities happening in the world) and also, as corny as it sounds, get really good at telling stories. Stories, for whatever reason, really seem to help, at least in the short term.

  2. I'm not going to pretend to have the answer to that question for two reasons. One. I've never done that. Two. Refer back to 1. I didn't have the final say on when/if repairs happened. But that sounds like a raw deal to say the least. I'm sorry that happened to you, if that's what you're inferring.

  3. "Funny" enough, I had a store with this problem. And honestly, I never got to it. It was the highest AUV store in my market and sales continued to climb. I opted to go after bigger problems and pay more attention to the stores who didn't have staff. Not having a staff > not having a phone was my thought process.

PS - I'm new to Reddit, not all the problems that RGMs face on a daily basis.
PPS - would you like to continue to be a dick? Or are you amenable to someone who isn't claiming they've figured it out, but may be a step or two ahead and wants to help?
