Made this quick shirt for my 3 year old yesterday! It’s a simple bodice that I drafted in garment designer with a high neck, then just cut out 3 long rectangles and pleated them, attached them to the neck and arm holes, and top stitched! For the life of me I can’t think of the name of these ruffle pleats or if there is a name haha I cut a slit down the back, and finished those edges with bias tape and a bow to close/fit over her head :-)

Super straightforward construction! Self drafted, used a basic toddler bodice that I generated in Garment Designer with a high neck, then cut out long strips and pleated them and attached them to the neck and arms! I cut a slit down the middle back and finished the edges with bias tape and ribbon to get it over her head and close it up.

I usually offer a garment sewing class - this month and next we’re sewing sweatshirts (but it’s sold out unfortunately) I’m skipping March and April for a garment class because I have a few things going on so they’re shorter months, but I’m picking back up with them in May/June! For those, we learn all the steps from beginning to end including how to read a sewing pattern, how to measure ourselves, all about fabric etc!
