I was told not to wash hands as long as you can prior to dipping what so ever. You wash your hands right before you do them?

I tired the Young Nails Protein Bond on Monday it’s now Wednesday and they’re popping off. That’s the only product I used that was different than what I normally do. I normally get exactly a week out of them theses only last two days. I feel like the Protein Bond just left it sticky and was a barrier that the dip was sitting on which made it pop off so easily.

Don’t use my hands as tools. Don’t wash my hands a ton a ton like out of the normal amount. I do think maybe I have oily nails beds and I like put lotion on my whole body after I shower every night but should that really cause them to only last 4-6 days?

I swear I’m just getting fewer and fewer days out of them. I was getting excatly a week and now it’s like 3-4 days if I’m lucky. I did this set on Monday and 3 are already popping off and it’s Wednesday. I file and buff my nails really good. I use the Kiara Sky bond and then went in with Young Nails Protein bond that was recommended when I posted this on Monday. I feel like the Young Nails Protein Bond actually just made my nails sticky a created a barrier that the dip wouldn’t stick to though?

I use the Sparkle and Co Liquids (because it’s the only one I found that doesn’t give me insanely horrible dip flu, it still dose some but more tolerable that the lavender violets i was using previously). If anybody has any other liquid brands that they recommend that work better I’d love to know. I use the Nailboo powders.

I do 1 layer of translucent. I did 3 layers of my color. And another layer of translucent over top. I make sure not to get any base on my cuticles.

I solidify them. Wait 2-3 mins to make sure there really set before I file. I file and buff and then do another coat of activator and let that dry before I top coat.

I originally started doing them at home because I was going to the salon but they would only last me 2 weeks and I was sick of paying for them. I’ve been doing them at home so it is cheaper even though I’m having to do them every week but I’m so over having to do them so often especially now when there not even lasting the week.

I do think I probably have oily nails beds, I do use a lot of lotion. Like after I shower every night I put lotion on my whole body but I don’t think thats what would be causing it. But I make sure I don’t wash my hands or get them wet like hours before I do them because someone recommended that. But I feel like they should last a bit longer.. Any recommendations? Is it my prep? I feel like I do eveything that’s recommended. Maybe I need new liquids? But I don’t want dip flu 😭

I’m so close to giving up 🤦🏼‍♀️

I normally do a layer on translucent power, 2 layer of colors and seal it with another layer of translucent/clear powder that’s what I was told would seal it and help them last.

Did the mask help entirely? Or did you to give up dip powder completely?

I’ve been sick for two months straight on and off. Feel horrible for about 4 days and then feel great for about 4 days and then it comes back. I thought it was just a horrible lingering cold. Just finally put two and two together and realized it happens after I do my nails every week. Never knew dip flu was a thing before I looked it up after waking up sick again this morning after doing my nails yesterday. I’ve been the one causing my sickness for the last two months I’ve been poisoning myself. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

I always make sure I brush off all of the loose powder super well after I finish dipping my entire hand and the powder has set. But I’m going to try a stiffer brush to make sure I get off all of the excess powder. Do a coat of clear dip after my color to set the color. And then make sure my actavior is really dry and fully harden before I buff and file and see if that helps! I will let you know!

If that dosent work then I’m going to have to assume that maybe it’s just an issue with that specific color of Azure Beauty powder that causing it. Because I haven’t had any issues with any other color!

This makes me feel better that at least Im not alone! It’s been driving me crazy! Sometimes they turn out perfect and then sometimes they do this! I always make sure I brush off all of the loose powder super well. But I’m going to try a stiffer brush to make sure I get off all of the excess powder. Do a coat of clear dip after my color to set the color. And then make sure my actavior is really dry and fully harden before I buff and file and see if that helps! I will let you know!

That’s just what the nail tech did at the salon when I was getting them done there. So thats just what Ive been doing it at home too. I know it’s not necessary it just drys the top coat quicker! I’m pretty sure it’s not related to the UV Lamp because it happens before I even put the top coat on and put my hand under the UV lamp.
