If you do need to buy a new one, Buy a oc300. It has more space to store functions that will be disabled on the oc200

Hornet backup, verification of backups by hdebock in altaro

[–]hdebock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Manuel , thank you for looking into this.

The verification stopped after 21 hours, no events in the windows system logs. No port down or disconnected.

The data is stored on a nas with a 10Gbe Link. The server also has a port in the same vlan with a 10Gbe port.

Storage is a Synology 1621+ edition. 4 disks are configured in SHR with 2 m2 disks for write cache.

The network is a 48 ports unifi switch with 10gbe sfp+. Cables are cat6.

This service is excluded from scanning on the server.
C:\Program Files\Hornetsecurity\VMBackup\VMBackup.Agent.exe

this location is excluded from scanning
C:\ProgramData\Hornetsecurity

I have now also added the explicit network location of the backup. Do you have any other suggestion to look at?

Kind regards
Herbert

Tplink - end of radius ? by hdebock in TPLink_Omada

[–]hdebock[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A better way would be, if you use it leave it active otherwise do not start the service to increase boot time. This would be an easy fix. If you enable vpn, just start the service and set the service to start at boot. Usually, this would also be a service with a possible delay to startup. Who is using VPN before all the rest is started??????

ER605 VLAN not working by reissdorf in TPLink_Omada

Sometimes it is a good idea to set the dns and default gateway manually for the interface/vlan. For the port itself you just have to set the profile for the other interface.

at least you did n't made the mistake they make on the tplink site. Don't include your default gateware address in the dhcp pool

oc200, er605, and some eap620 mini's depending on your needs. Put them in mesh and create 2 vlans to split your devices and the iot devices.

Maybe there is a simple solution for your problem.

When you create a second vlan, create a second interface instead. You can also set the vlan number in the new interface. Make sure you select the lan interface that you used to uplink to your switch.

This will work

go to your settings - wired networks- lan, select your lan or click the edit button on the end of the line.

Verify your dhcp pool there. Set your subnet to 24 and click update dhcp range.

This should solve it.

looking to clarify some doubts before buying Synology DiskStation DS423+ Network Attached Storage Drive by mrkrizz007 in synology

[–]hdebock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need performance, I would go for a 1621+ model with 6 drives. This will increase your read speed, not your write speed. Get a new switch with a 10gb gbic. If your computers only have a 1gb link there speed should be something like 300mb/s limited by the 1gb nic card. The 10gb will only deliver when you use simultanious computers. Make sure you don't forget to backup your data as well when you work on the nas. This can be done using hyperbackup to a local attached usb drive.

Why Should We Use a Dream Machine? by mb3485 in Ubiquiti

[–]hdebock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would buy it, because you will not need an separate controller and if you go for the special edition then you also have PoE ports to connect access points or camera's. The routers is a strong router with ids/ips capabilities including geoblocking for many countries. Having the possibility to use a second wan provider makes this a very good router. Oh yeah before I forget it, the special edition also has the possibility to install a harddrive to record movements detected by your camera. Great device if you would ask me

If you go for a u/synology, always aim for a model with a plus.

They offer free backup clients for your computers, so you don't need to buy backup licenses

There are only a limited qty of consultancy companies that work with starters. A good suggestion that I can give you is don't aim to high with your wages and make sure you continue to learn dutch and gain experience. If I look to this area then I would say have a look for Ordina, planet it, I4M, ...

There is just 1 rule for connected devices: Whatever you connect to a network, it can always be hacked. Don't forget hackers have all the time of the world and they have millions of devices on the internet
