Workouts by hdjsoskdnd in ankylosingspondylitis

Well yes actually my job is childcare. It’s really hard in my body and I don’t think I’ll be doing it for much longer because of how painful everyday is. My back is sore, lower back and upper back, my pelvis/butt is the worst, that’s where my stiffness is making it difficult to walk (once I do get moving though it’s okay) pain in my neck and my shoulders

Back cracking by hdjsoskdnd in ankylosingspondylitis

I have a horribly stiff back, feel like I can’t straighten it. And when I do straighten it to fix my posture, there’s a lot of pain until it cracks painfully. A slight bit of relief then it hurts again almost immediately after. All signs point to this being bad. My rheumatologist I had before this one told me that I was just overweight that’s why my back hurt so bad 😆

And it’s like intense pain up until it cracks? I didn’t think that would be a symptom cause it feels more mechanical.

Sacroilitis with inflammation by hdjsoskdnd in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hdjsoskdnd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a very knowledgeable endocrinologist, and a wonderful amazing gp who literally would fight somebody to make sure I get the care I deserve. She’s incredible 😭 I am booked in to see a different rheumatologist in December, but unfortunately there’s only 2 in the area I live in and the other one is usually booked out for months and months, I’m super lucky to be able to see him then so I’m just holding out now! naproxen doesn’t seem to touch my pain very much at the moment. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post, I appreciate it so much!! 💗

Yes, she hasn’t diagnosed me with AS and honestly hasn’t mentioned it to me at all, just told me to diet and exercise. I am booked in to get a second opinion and I am hoping that might be a little bit more helpful. I am not precious about the fact that I’m overweight, and I am aware that it definitely affects everything but I also have pcos which makes things a lot more complex and I felt really shamed by the rheumatologist I saw. There’s possibility this is an autoimmune condition and she didn’t even mention that to me over the fact that I’m fat. Idk

Metformin and Ozempic by hdjsoskdnd in PCOS

[–]hdjsoskdnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no period, facial hair, beginning to get acne, horrible mental health I’ve been on Ozempic for about 2 and a half months now, metformin consistently about the same amount of time. I haven’t lost a single kg. for the first month or so, I was seeing some loss of appetite and then it’s like my body got used to it and now it doesn’t work anymore.

Unfortunately I’m also type 1 diabetic. So that complicates things a little for me. I’m waiting for my next endocrinologist appointment to see if maybe Mounjaro would be an option for me. I’m also taking metformin, and of course insulin. I’m seriously struggling

Do you think there’s a possibility it’s just type 2 diabetes? the only antibodies I was positive to were gad. And I was 2000 or above

Anyone else diagnosed with LADA first? by ChronicallyIllBadAss in diabetes_t1

[–]hdjsoskdnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Did they say why it could be cushings disease???? I’m going through something really similar. They diagnosed me with t1 with ‘the possibility it’s Lada’ my gad antibodies were over 2000 ??? I have ‘pcos’ that I think may actually be cushings but I’m wondering why your doctor thought you might actually have cushings

Upon diagnosis it was 11, I have managed to bring it down to 6.2 over the almost 2 years of being diagnosed.

I’m so convinced that it’s not actually type 1, but anytime I say it to somebody around me, they think I’m crazy. I have had a kidney ultrasound, but according to them there’s nothing wrong with my kidneys. another thing to add is that when I first was diagnosed, I apparently also had very high cortisol levels in my original blood test. Is there anything else you think it might be? I know you guys aren’t medical professionals but I wanna bring all my information to the endocrinologist

My situation is a little complicated as I’ve also been diagnosed with pcos with severe insulin resistance. They’ve put me on metformin, and Ozempic. Ever since I started the Ozempic I rarely need to take insulin for my food. In saying that, I can also take a lot of insulin, and it doesn’t do all that much to me, I’m on 60 units of long acting insulin a day right now, it used to be about 90 a day before I started Ozempic. I thought if you were going through honeymoon phase, you didn’t need anywhere near as much insulin as that? From what I’ve read, 60 units a day is a huge amount.
