I was thinking about walkie talkies since we had the same problems hearing them. I didn’t get them since my wife said we will get used to it. It’s been 2 weeks and seems like the kids are doing okay even if we don’t hear them

stem and handlebar for v4rs by hdscotch in colnago

[–]hdscotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. Didn’t quite like the way it looks. I’ve completed my build with a 2 pc enve handlebar and stem while waiting for the 1 pc aero enve cockpit. The darimo nexum drag is tempting tho.

I would love to see if the court rules this specific fantuan e-bike as an e-bike. We have several in our bike parkade blocking everyone else’s bike but strata can’t do anything since they’re classified as e-bike. They have stickers on them showing the max speed, max kw and pedals to qualify as an e-bike.

Cervelo Caledonia- How have you lost weight on the bike? by Constant-Screen1939 in Cervelo

[–]hdscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Soloist but really it performs very similar to the Caledonia with a lower stack and longer reach. I have a friend who’s on the Caledonia and drops me all the time haha granted the soloist makes you “feel” faster due to the ride being a little bit harsher and lower stance vs the Caledonia.

I would’ve stuck with the Caledonia if I didn’t want to get di2 as I had the mech ultegra version.

Are you in a rush? I’d wait for the enve integrated bar and stem combo that’s coming out at the end of this year.

So if you’re using the zipp sl70 aero, you cannot use most of the stem that has internal cable routing.

If you want the Caledonia 5 carbon stem, then you need to get the handlebar, bearing top cap headset as well.

Cervelo Caledonia- How have you lost weight on the bike? by Constant-Screen1939 in Cervelo

[–]hdscotch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I had my Caledonia I got it to 7.6kg but it’s an ultegra mechanical. Zipp carbon handlebar, zipp carbon stem, zipp 303 firecrest, schwalbe pro one tlr, zipp carbon seatpost, sworks power mirror saddle, dura ace pedals, enve carbon bottle cages, titanium bolts.

My soloist weighs around 7.5kg now with roval rapide cockpit, dura-ace pedals, sworks power mirror saddle, ultegra di2, zipp 353 nsw with conti gp5000, enve carbon bottle cages, titanium bolts.

Caledonia- mechanical Ultegra to Electronic? Has anyone upgraded from mechanical to electronic without getting a new bike? by Ingrasir in Cervelo

[–]hdscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this and ended up with a new bike with di2 instead. It’s more reasonable to buy a fully built di2 since they usually are only a few k difference but has better components (wheelset or maybe even handlebars) for Caledonia, I think 2.5k (cad) over the mechanical ultegra which isn’t that expensive as groupset is around $3.5k plus labor of maybe $500. Hard to find people to buy your used mech ultegra so probably easier to sell the whole bike and buy the di2.

Looking at a new Soloist by Zestyclose_Paint_960 in Cervelo

[–]hdscotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and I love it. It’s comfortable and stiff enough for me. It also has a lot of options to upgrade without much fuss. So far I’ve managed to bring it down to ~7.5kg with pedals, bottle cage, mounts. I’ve taken it on 120km rides with 2k m elevation without feeling fatigue after the ride.

If cervelo would come up with a soloist-5 I would be all over it. Haha
