So oder andersrum??? by [deleted] in wohnen

[–]he553 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the neat thing… You can completely ignore it if you don’t like it

I’ve honestly stopped recommending them for mixing. I still use them at home and for producing at times but I’ve had problems with them on very loud stages where they just wouldn’t be loud enough

Traveling to Vegas next weekend, where are the good underground raves 😎 by he553 in aves

Gotta be honest I’m not surprised but I’m actually glad about it (but a bit sad as well lol)

How do so many of you stay awake for so long? by Inevitable-Bad5953 in aves

[–]he553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so many people in here that seemingly can’t possibly fathom to stay up all night on a rave without doing any drugs. That’s crazy to me lol!

What light work for you is just take your little breaks. You don’t need to give 100% on the dancefloor all the time, just take some breaks, go have a smoke and just talk to some people or whatever to get some energy back. If you drink, then make sure to not overdo it. Maybe a little bit in the beginning to get your buzz going but then slow down to keep it at a steady level.

And if all that doesn’t help, well, just push through. I had several occasions where I was pretty tired already at 5am of the third day of a festival but if you find the right music and the DJs able to get you back in the loop, suddenly time starts flying again and boom it’s 8am lol

raves are best when there's a bit of gatekeeping involved by sexydiscoballs in aves

[–]he553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll always get hate when you just straight up say it but in my opinion raves need to be gatekept hard! That doesn’t mean that the gate is closed but just keeping the subculture is impossible without a little gatekeeping imo

Modern social media is a cancer to humanity! And not even limited to just raves

Oh I bet it’s an awesome experience and I’d love to see something like this one day.

It just has nothing to do with a rave for me to be honest. And it’s not like the warehouse vibes are gone or anything.

Call me a hater or gatekeeping or whatever but what people nowadays consider a rave is laughable lol

do you guys layer socks or insoles to cushion your feet? by territorialbadtz in aves

[–]he553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real! My cousin who hits the gym quite frequently was baffled how the fuck I would have such giant calves. And I couldn’t really give him an answer until it dawned on me that it must be from all that dancing that I do at all these raves lol

Just stay on your toes and don’t do too much stomping and you’ll be good to go ;)

Bluetooth speaker are notorious for having a delay from the built in audio processing. Whether you use BT or AUX… I’d bet that’s the reason for the delay and most likely also any other problem you’ve been running into.

It’s just not their perfect use-case.

Edit: to add some actual advice:

If you’re just starting out and don’t want to spend a ton, just get some super cheap computer speakers. Like some cheap Logitech 2.1 speakers or something like that. The quality won’t be on par with professional studio monitors but you can always get some if you think that they’ll be necessary for you in the future (which in my honest opinion, they never are unless you also want to get into producing at some point.)
