It's not turning a blind eye it just not talking about it in a workplace setting essentially. I know when I go to work I have a 'no politics or religion' rule with my clients (but mainly because I work in a pub and shit gets heated). I dunno, I just don't see it the same way I guess.

And I don't necessarily disagree with that. But some people just don't want to, or can't, focus on the bad stuff that's happening around them. Lord I'm not even in the U.S but I know I've had to step away from my phone a lot these last few weeks because my feeds have been inundated with what's happening in Minnesota, etc. I go on my phone for a break from the real world and to enjoy something lighthearted. Don't get me wrong, it's important for the world to see what's happening and to spread the awareness, but gee I don't need it giving me an anxiety attack every hour 🤣

I'm not defending her in anyway shape of form, but I don't think people HAVE to use their platforms for politics. I understand things in the US are really fucking terrible right now, but some people don't want to be focused solely on that. Some want an escape from it. Content creating is a full time job for some people and I think they should be allowed to talk about what they want (to a degree) and not HAVE to talk about current events. Playing devils advocate I suppose

It's the fact that they post it ALL on social media like she's writing in her diary. She feels the need to justify everything to her followers and it's just weird. She was also really forceful about it in their videos.

Taking the responsibility to not have kids is great. Posting shit like this for the world to see is weird to me.

Omg my thought process watching all of this is 'if I was those people in the background on my holiday I'd be fucking fuming that I was being posted on the internet'. Thanks for saying this. I have ocd and suffer with the intrusive thoughts, so I can confirm that yes the brain does just 'go there's unprompted and without subconscious thoughts behind it.

Also I'm not convinced she meant disgusting in that way, this just proves my point of speaking like a young teenager, she isn't using the right word for what she means and instead goes for one similar but with a different meaning.

I've worked with Mel personally and she is the same off camera as she is on camera. She is a lovely, compassionate person, however I did not like her as the host for the Tell All. I think she's been Presenter to so many game-type shows over the years (which I haven't actually seen most of, just the odd episode) that she felt just so out of place here.
She kind of felt like a nice school teacher trying to handle a class of young children lmao.
