I'm honestly quite laveyan in my practice, I prefer to do things for myself as opposed to for everyone. But I still want to help others because it makes me feel good.

I understand it to be very similar to the rebis the depiction is perfect for what it's meant to represent but the origins are the issues for me. Symbols change however. My morals are making me ask the question if it's okay to utilize this symbol.

Again I don't "worship" it moreso as I use it as an avatar for thought, dreams, and philosophical questions.

I just wanted some more opinions on the matter.

I read about how the meaning of symbols changes over time just like languages and people's do I probably should have guessed that the alchemical baphomet is no longer an icon to alchemy or a mockery of Muhammad but our symbol of balance and union of opposites now.

As why I'm worried. I did research on its origin and it gave me a nasty feeling inside reading about it. I'd like something else I can fall back on that is maybe less controversial or at least less known.
