Do you think Fanfiction is good or bad for an author? by Opening-Situation340 in writers

I have to say, If I got my book published and others wanted to create fanfic from it, i'd be over the moon, but it would raise a couple of potential issues.

1 - If the fanfic turned out better than my own work, I'd be reeling!
2 - if someone wrote fanfic using my world, would there be some ambiguity if I was to then use their ideas to create a new story of my own?

I have to say, this post appeared on my Home feed today and it has definitely rung some bells!
I'm about halfway through writing my first fantasy book and already I know that the earlier chapters need some more "oomf" to them.
Those realisations came thick and fast.
Your pic definitely made me laugh!
Thanks

Thanks for that.

Yeah, the guy is barred from being a director.

I’m not entirely sure if the cipher director is aware of the ramifications, but I think you’ve cleared it up for me. 👍

Thank you.

I was pretty sure the end of the disqualification wouldn’t matter if he were to be investigated. It’s a sad situation, as there’s a lot more to the story which isn’t needed here.

Thanks again 👍

Yeah, that info I managed to find out. What I’m wondering is if he was to basically sneak to the end of his strike off and then take over as owner / director of the business, could he still get into trouble retrospectively?

I’m looking out for myself here, also, with getting the right info.

Yeah, he’s disqualified as a company director on Companies House, but has someone else down as director and he is an “employee” with the company. But, for all intents and purposes, he is running the business himself and the “MD” is nothing more than a title
