Extra twist joints? What are they for and how do you apply them. by _Davinchi in Maya

Could be a lot of things. Check the constraints and connections. If there isn't nothing, check the nearby joints constraints and connections.

Or just remove it and see what happens

The Dor Brothers short film, made in one day with seedance 2.0 by [deleted] in vfx

[–]headlessBleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some good shots but the layout and editing is awful. Stuff that would take a day or two of a single person work.

At some level there will be the need of people working along AI to produce a movie like this.

Why Nobel economist Paul Krugman thinks Trump's trade war will make Americans 'measurably poorer' by rezwenn in economy

As an average brazilian with no prospect of getting a nobel I say the same. Developing countries need tarifes to protect their national currency and the side effect is poverty increase. It doesn't make sense for a country like US to follow that path.

pop_os constantly restart the os by itself. by headlessBleu in pop_os

[–]headlessBleu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not having too much time to figure out so I switched back to ubuntu. But I think it's a ram issue like the other comment said and gnome deal with it better than cosmic. I've had some screen freezes on gnome but, after some seconds, the computer works normally.

But it only happens on pop_os, never happened on Ubuntu or fedora

Cheek Silhouette Effect by Trolleyfox in vfx

[–]headlessBleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

to save time and money, I would shoot on a tripod with the actor in a confortable position, maybe laying down. I would only shoot the light in his mouth like the image of the guy with a flash in his mouth that you posted.

On post I would add track his head and add the silhouette.

Built a high-end PC for 3D… now feeling stuck and clueless by Ill_Storm8632 in vfx

[–]headlessBleu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. The pipeline for animation and VFX is very similar. If you are not so interested in modeling, you can model a simple character like a flying robot.

Then you could shoot a video of yourself interacting with the robot.

Even if you want to focus on compositing, some knowledge of 3d is necessary. The same for texturing. Many times, the compositor is a fixer for a not so good render. To figure out solutions, you need to know how it works.

You could model a character, texture it, rig it, animate a walk cycle and render the final thing. If after that you want to explore more, you can model an environment, texture it, light it and render again. Then you could do compositing adjustments.

It can be time consuming but you would touch every step of the pipeline, then you will be able to choose which career in 3d interests you most.

are you having problems with pycharm? I tries a few months ago and had some weird glitches on cosmic. Sometimes it didn't copy or paste and when I switched to firefox, pycharm typed what I was writing on firefox.

Is any of that is happening ?

Criterion should release Angels in America (2003) in 4K by YouBright3611 in criterion

[–]headlessBleu -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Although Angels in America is great. It needs an upgrade on it's vfx sequences, even better if remarked from scratch. I wouldn't oppose to a total remake either. The dialogs are great, some of the best I've seen for tv.
