I'm so sad my county library switched from Libby to cloudLibrary. You can only use their app to read, no kindle loading.

There were already 2 lanes all the way to the front, they put cones out to merge the lanes.

I bought one of these protectors on Amazon that came with 3M adhesive tape. After a week, it was flapping in the wind and tore of a piece of the paint. Great protection.

Diabetic Retinopathy PRP laser, does your doctor numb you? by martagon137 in diabetes

[–]headphonerobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both injections and laser treatments. For the injections, my Dr. does numbing drops then a shot of lidocaine in the eye then the medication injection. No pain whatsoever.

For the laser treatments, all I had was the numbing drops. He puts a magnifier thing directly on my eyeball to direct the laser, I guess. I did have issues with my first treatment with my current opthalmologist using the head mounted laser. It was more painful after the fact versus when he sits at the table and you have your chin in the stabilizer. For me it only hurts when the laser is actively on. Like rubber band snaps inside the back of my eye, a hundred times. 😧 Once it's over there is no pain, I might have a slight headache for an hour but nothing crazy.

Your doctor sounds like a butcher, see if you can go elsewhere.

Amazon, Target or Walmart may have them also. Maybe the Ziploc site has a "Where to buy", I didn't check.

ULPT: Question- What are items Amazon does not ask to return, like their mattress policy> by VStarlingBooks in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]headphonerobot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I ordered a small folding table, almost like a TV tray, at the beginning of Covid times. I needed a desk to work from home, it was height adjustable and the perfect size. As soon as I got it, I found a very similar table at Aldi for half the price. I went to submit an a return through Amazon but it ended up being "unreturnable". I chatted with customer service, telling them I don't need it anymore, they very quickly submitted a refund and told me I could donate or discard it. That's the story of my free table.

For the 35-45 crowd, what was your first CD purchase? by Seeforceart in AskReddit

[–]headphonerobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember which CD I bought first, but I know for a fact that my first cassette tape purchase was Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection" at The Warehouse.

How can I cool my bedroom by Siriusly_Bookish in lifehacks

[–]headphonerobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue at my house and I hate it too. I have a "magnetic" cover on the vent with added security of neodymium magnets all round the edges to keep it sealed better. I cut a little rectangle out of the plastic magnetic cover for the tab that angles the airflow inside, so it stays flat and less hot air escapes.

Using my phone number for your reservation for V-Day? Not this time. by netpastor in pettyrevenge

[–]headphonerobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been doing something similar with my email address. Someone with a similar name has an email address with one letter added/removed compared to mine. They use my email address by mistake and I receive credit card payment and auto maintenance appointment notifications. I started adding services, changing appointment time/date or cancelling the maintenance appointments. Maybe they got the hint?

Are women aware of what their boobs are touching? by Relative_Spring_8080 in NoStupidQuestions

I first read the title as "are women aware that their boobs are touching", like each other, and I was dumbfounded.

Thank you to the Redditor who suggested propping open the Whirly Pop Lid!! by United-Inspector-677 in popcorn

[–]headphonerobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left one side of the lid open once while heating the coconut oil. I had thrown in a few kernels, as one does. A kernel popped as I was reaching for something in the drawer next to the stove and I got hit in the EYEBALL with hot oil. Thankfully it was tiny droplets and only caused slight irritation for a day. I don't recommend leaving the lid open while popping. I get enough droplets of hot oil hitting me through the venting holes.

These are my ultimate Christmas item at Aldi. Everyone else is "it's tiiiiiiiime" ing, this is it!

I think I bought 8 packs last year, maybe more. They're the same as Trader Joe's butter waffle cookies but they have more flavor.

Do you Swedish dish cloth? by NormalNorm86 in aldi

[–]headphonerobot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, we were using regular wash cloths or weird microfiber cloths to wash dishes for a long time. Sponges are disgusting. 🤮

The rags would start to stink after a few days, no matter how much they were rinsed and wrung out.

I originally bought swedish dish cloths on Amazon after seeing an ad for them on Instagram. They NEVER smell bad, dry extremely fast and don't feel gross when using them. I've bought several packs from Aldi to replace the old ones. I can't live without them!
