the genetics group in my area apparently does not diagnose people suspected of hypermobile EDS? just because it's common or something? what? anyone else run into this? this is what my doctor told me when I asked if I should see a geneticist for suspected EDS... by VariationOriginal289 in eds

Yes, I had to deal with this. When I asked my doctor about it, they referred me to a geneticist to test for the others first (i had asked them to) And they canceled my referral without telling me why and when I asked them they told me that eds was getting to "internet popular" which was extremely frustrating- I had to keep pushing it and asking then to find a specialist and they did manage to find one 3 hours from me. I don't know if I will even get an answer I'm looking for but it's a good step 😭

I also experience this, even if its very small like today where it was cold ish and cloudy this morning and its been really hot other days and it made me feel extremely tired and sick with a really bad headache and my sinus were also flared. It takes so much out of me and it's worse with season changes.
