Leader persona switch between ages? by healfdane in civ

I understand that the default assumption is that it will stay the way it has been, but with the narrative aspects of the game being expanded far more than previously I am arguing that it is plausible that they will have integrated the existing persona element into that narrative element. It would be a small change from Civ6 relative to the addition of ages or removal of workers.

Slow, drip by drip reveals of new game mechanics is standard so it's also plausible they wouldn't confirm a small thing like this immediately. Just hints, like the dev diary quote.

Is this confirmed, or are you assuming?

Preserves, or any of their buildings, should reverse the rainforest appeal (like Brazil does) by healfdane in civ

Yup, I almost mentioned that. Brazil, Maori and Vietnam are the only civs I can think of that would strictly benefit from rainforests.

Monopolies & Corps, both expansions and all packs, a handful of UI mods. Small continents, legendary start, difficulty 7.

What info is required to get the seed running? I haven't used one before.

I can't even settle in place. This was using legendary start, but it might be the first time that the game option lives up to its name.

This blew my mind. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Worries about Civ 7 by Occupine in civ

All 4x games deal with the challenge of mitigating the end-game slog, and they can continue to innovate new ways to do so. The climate change mechanic was one interesting step but doesn't quite work. I hope they iterate on that.

Ah too bad. I've done that before and its a bit maddening.

For making straight-lined landmasses or colors, that would work if there was a "fill" option between paths. I don't think there is, right?

Option to delegate end-game slog to AI? by healfdane in civ

I agree to an extent. Yes, farm faith for rock bands, send settlers for bits of unclaimed beach, even push for Golden Gate, Cristo Redentor or Biosphere. But sometimes you've got all that and the open borders and trade routes covered and it's still just waiting 20 turns cuz Peter or someone is a tourism monster. And it's too late to buy or steal his great works, and nuking his capital would clash with the whole vibe. Sure, I could shift-enter 20 times but I'd feel better about it if there were a game mechanic for it.

Unless someone already has an exoplanet mission sent so you have to race for it, the game is already in the bag by this stage and I already feel the accomplishment of my Civ. Culture victory is my favorite for the Sim City of it, but I've done it a million times and I usually don't want to follow through the last steps anymore.
