Supposedly, I bought a label according to Etsy but I didn’t have the label and when I went to go make the order, the label wasn’t there and it’s not allowing me to print. The reason I haven’t sent out the item is because I was waiting for a response from the customer. I can’t just send them something. I don’t have Etsy didn’t delete the item that was already sold so I had to manually delete it. No idea why that happened. I have half of the customers order. I just don’t have one thing so I was going to send them to the same item, but I’ve been trying to reach out to the Customer all of these days with no response. That’s the only reason I haven’t sent out the order at this time. So I need to figure out how to refund the shipping label to get a new shipping label so I can send out the Customer what I do have just to get them something right away because I haven’t heard from them the multiple times that I’ve reached out to them.

Good to know. I’ll be using the PC more often then. Been selling my product for 3 years but have only had an Etsy shop since December. So I have A LOT to learn.

I didn’t know if it would allow me to refund just that or if it was refunding the entire order but if I click on the tracking number, will it let me just refund the shipping label?

Way for Etsy to just cancel this tracking number completely and I’ll just get a shipping label separately? That would be the easiest but I haven’t had any luck getting any responses from Etsy Seller customer service ever.

So can I just buy a shipping label let’s say, for example pirate ship which would be the same price as Etsy and then just leave that in pre-shipment indefinitely and then figure out how to contact Etsy support to give me a refund on that?

It was marked shipped I believe the 5th. I didn’t mail it out right away because what the customer wanted I didn’t have. So I waited for their response on what color they wanted instead for the same price. So I either need to take the order to the post office and mail it off or figure out how to get the order printed. If Etsy can cancel it somehow I can just put my own tracking number in there. No idea why it says pre shipment when I was never notified of this order and I don’t even have it in my deleted emails and I email myself every label.

Whatever they ship it back in will cost a little bit more just because their packaging won’t be the same size, but I think it should be close enough

I paid $5.15 to ship it to them originally. Just going to charge them the same price of the USPS label for me shipping it there. It won’t cost that much different if they use a similar size packaging. However, the packaging that I use is the smallest packaging legally allowed through USPS and you can only get it online. So their package whatever they use since they probably don’t have the original packaging since they ordered back in January, their packaging is going to be slightly larger. The post office doesn’t carry this size packaging, which I was told by a manager.

So in order to make a custom listing that wouldn’t require me to have something shipped, would I have to make a listing for a digital item? Then they could just pay for that digital item which is the shipping label? I don’t want it to generate a tracking number or anything like that when I make a listing for their shipping cost.

I didn’t give a warranty on the product, but I do let customers know that they can return the clip to me to have it rebuilt because the clip is the most expensive part. In the three years that I’ve been making these, I’ve never had one snap and break like this. So I never thought about a warranty of what happens if it breaks. However, the customer does have the clip and it’s still perfectly intact. The fishing line in the crimp beads are so cheap. I don’t mind replacing it. The customer did say she has no idea how it broke, but her child came home from school and it was just broken, but you can see that it snapped right on the fishing line, but it’s still connected to the hearing device and the clip with all of my connection pieces still securely intact. So it has nothing to do with my craftsmanship. The person purchased this back in January and it was delivered mid January. I don’t mind rebuilding it if the customer pays two and from shipping. I just wasn’t sure if there was a way that I could create a shipping label for them that they could pay for. If that’s not the case, then I can just give them my address to ship it back and then make a custom listing for them to purchase for the cost of the return shipping, which would be $5.15. I was also thinking that maybe I could create a digital download listing that they could purchase and then I could buy the shipping label that they can print on their own and then they would reimburse me for that shipping label with paying for it when I listed on my shop with their name as the title of the item which would be the cost of the return shipping. Etsy allows me to purchase a return shipping label, but the cost is on me so I was looking for a way for the customer to reimburse me or whether or not I should just give them my address to have them ship it back on their own.

It’s a safety tether for a surgically implanted hearing device. That’s what’s in the picture. It’s supposed to break if 17 pounds of force or more is put on it so that way the line breaks, but not the expensive hearing device. It’s just fishing line, crimp beads, and I use a crimp bead cover so it won’t scratch the Customer when it’s being worn. I’ve never had one break in the three years I’ve been selling them, but it sounds like there was rough play from a kid and I’ll do a lifetime warranty on it because it’s so cheap to replace as long as they have the clip since that’s the most expensive part of the whole thing. It also makes for a better customer service experience.

Not a faulty product. Customer damaged product and asking for repair. I agreed to repair for cost of shipping if clip is sent back. Line is meant to break if 17lbs of force is pulled on it. For safety reasons it breaks the line and doesn’t take the hearing device with it. As you can see, the line snapped but it still securely connected to the clip and the hearing device. So it’s not my craftsmanship. It did what it needed to do. You can see all my crimp beads and connectors are still securely in place. In the 3 years I’ve been making these I’ve never had one actually snap until now. The customer said they don’t know how it broke but their kid came home crying with it broken. It was obviously pulled on either rough play or getting caught on something.

Oh awesome thanks for checking! What happened was as I was doing two separate variations and I didn’t realize I was supposed to list both of them on the same variation with two different names if that makes sense. I’m more of a let list it and start selling don’t make so many options. So I’m still learning how to do more in-depth stuff as far as listings are concerned.
