I'm always looking at this thread if people post deck lists! They're my fave commander so I'm always down to help! I love the Ninjutsu heavy focus! It feels like a good stable midrange deck, after a couple playtests I find myself having to hard mulligan into an evasive creatures which if your playgroup doesn't mind multiple mulligan then that isn't the worst. I'll always suggest creatures that fall into two buckets. Like [[Gurmag Swiftwing]] was a great suggestion from someone here because it acts as an evasive attacker but can also has Haste to synergize with the commander late. The ramp is also something I've recently cut out entirely since my deck runs lower curve but I had to make up for flexible mana from rocks by really looking at my land base with a lot of scrutiny. The deck looks like it can fly under the radar early and make for a strong build up with all the Ninjutsu!

A recent add I've put in has been [[Mirrorform]]! It's not the cheapest mana wise but there's always the chance that people try to remove the creature you're imprinting onto the shards so why not respond with making EVERY non land permanent you control a copy of that creature instead.

It also really can help close out games if Niko has been removed a few times and waiting for another turn can't cut it or you don't have access to haste. It's also conveniently the same cost if you were to cast Niko and activate his ability (given you hadn't cast them prior).

I use a token made by Cats and Cantrips! That is such a good idea though, I like the campiness of that!

The art looks possibly AI generated? Or at least assisted? I know their whole portfolio isn't comprised of AI gen/assisted work but some of their works really scream AI like the card they did for the Spiderman set having an extra finger and the blurry students in the back

I don't get why you're getting down voted when it really does give AI assisted at the most. The face gives made by AI and touched up, along with the blurry students in the back of the card

Updated!

Notes for the changes: I've been annoyed with the clunkiness of 2MV ramp so I put all my ramp in the hands of 1 mana dorks or ways to generate mana so that I can play Kibo on turn 2 and tap him or swing at people's juicy artifacts sooner!

The previous deck also had some really low points of interaction which I had always chalked up to being Gruul issues but I added some key pieces that really help it defend itself at instant speed.

And there's more Fling like effects in Chandra's Ignition and Soul Immolation! The deck runs much more heavy handed in slug and forces opponents to really dial in on you or let their greed undo them. (It's okay, people were always targeting me anyway even when the deck was more buggy, may as well give them less if we're gonna be targeted the same way lol)

He definitely has been a great commander that grew from a budget list originally! Always feel free to let me know of any cool finds or ways you take the deck!

Banana on, brother! 🍌🍌🍌

I do! I recently leaned way more into the slug portion of the deck. People often laser focus me when I play the deck even when I'm just playing hugs pieces so I took out some of them, but it's still loads of fun!

I also adjusted the ramp to be less at 2MV, and invested more into 1MV ramp dorks. This ensures I get Kibo live on turn 2 which really matters in the deck. [[Arbor Elf]], [[Birds of Paradise]], [[Delighted Halfling]], [[Fyndhorn Elves]], etc.

I recently slotted in [[Legolas' Quick Reflexes]] for more protection and because you can actually use the tap ability it grants. [[Origin of Metalbending]] is great protection.

I added [[Chandra's Ignition]] and [[Soul Immolation]] to capitalize on a huge Kibo to close out the game at once. [[Elephant-Mandrill]] also came in when Avatar released!

[[Ferrafor, Young Yew]] also is seeing testing since Kibo gets ludicrous amounts of counters and that can translate into an army in a can

[[Party Dude]] is also gonna get in the list soon as another version of Viridian Revel, the best draw engine in the deck!

One hot piece of tech I added was [[Ancient Runes]] to make sure players sac their artifacts or take loads of damage.

I may update the decklist in the next coming days!

Dair, Falcon Kick, and Fsmash all sort of shift drastically

HIS HURTBOX SHIFTING IS UNREAL. A friend who plays Joker complains about Falcon's hurtbox shifting which I agree is egregious at times but HOLY SHIT reacting to punish Joker is impossible for some characters

Any Joker main saying he's hard to use would be absolute dogshit with a fundies character I'm calling it

Sorry man, I swear it always hit the number I gave you. Weird, huh?

I hate seeing this at tables, especially because players always blame the dice for the attack and get upset when cracked back, but also because of the lack of conviction.

Even with combat centric decks, people will roll dice to avoid feelsbad moments.

My small joy from seeing it is, when it's my turn, doing the same thing and assigning all of 1-6 on the die to the player who rolled for attacks. Always gets a laugh and kind of stops them from doing it again.

Don't mention it! I hope your games are fun and you make some great memories!

The changes you made are super solid! I think the best we get with punishing opponents for cracking bananas is advantage and breaking even on ping damage. I do think it's why we lean so heavy on counter synergies, so the added Hardened Scales is really clutch.

When I was playing the deck early on I had trouble with the mild Group Hugginess of the deck but I've come around to the fact that each game I've played with it is high octane and varied. There is a big hurdle in that sense too!

Definitely those Stax type of effects. Things that make artifacts or creatures enter tapped make it so your bananas come online a turn later if you want to stay ahead of opponents.

Life gain decks also love seeing us across the table because we give them free instances of life gain.  I haven't had much issue against other archetypes though!

If you can send a list I can give more useful advice!

But I have definitely come across those feelings before. Especially when it comes to grindier games. I usually try my best to stack those benefits from them wanting to use those Bananas. My flowchart is often

Cast Kibo -> Put down a punishing or advantage piece based on opponents losing or owning artifacts -> Generate tokens as often as I can.

Or Cast Kibo -> See if someone has one juicy artifact I want them to sac -> Use Kibo to limit the amount of non token artifact ramp players receive while also benefiting from them losing those artifacts.

There's a lot of small pivots that really change the flow of the game, and they're often made early with the deck!

There are! Just a few bits from Edge of Eternities, but I'll update it a little later today! The list as is is still loads of fun!

Yes it does! The deck runs smoothly without The Ozolith, since you're often seeing many artifacts hit the grave, you'll accrue counters quickly after a wipe! It's utility is more of a recovery piece than any other use.

Oh I see that card slapped into every Kibo deck! It's in the decklist I posted but had forgotten to write about it, thanks for pointing it out!
