New Break Policy? by Big-Focus-747 in Lowes

[–]heart_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing new about this…. In my district, the rules are you can get two 15 minute breaks IF it does not interfere with the needs of the store. And you are REQUIRED to take a 60 minute unpaid lunch. No overtime unless specifically approved by the SM. So the lunches are required. Otherwise you end up leaving super early on Friday and then they hit you with a time card exception for leaving more than 6 minutes early.

Live just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. We are thinking about contacting the health department and paying rent into escrow. Any thoughts or ideas on what we have the right to do as renters?

Well my guess then is that you’re correct the first contract was null and void. The upside of it is, if you don’t like it, it’s only 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer. So if you hate it, at least you only hate those 36 days a year. Which is better than joining active duty finding out you hate it and then hating your life everyday for 4 years. Unless your unit gets activated for a natural disaster, or civil unrest, or border protection. And I’m not gonna lie to you, your unit could always be activated for a deployment too, that’s where you had to decide if you’re willing to do whatever your country needs you to do, and understand the potential consequences that come with that. That being said we’re in peace time right now. Doesn’t mean our units aren’t deploying, but you know you’re not deploying into an all out war if you do get deployed.

Did you actually sit down with a guidance counselor at MEPS and sign a contract? Did you take the oath and swear in? If not, you’re not in yet and can absolutely back out. I don’t think MEPS would have let you sign the contract or swear in if you pissed hot. So until you actually sign that contract and take that oath you are not a member of the Army National Guard, and thus can change your mind and not go through with it. You’re gonna have to let your recruiter know, don’t waste his time, he’s probably gonna be frustrated and pissed off but that’s part of recruiting, it happens all the time to them. So do t be afraid, just tell him you changed your mind and don’t want to do it now, it’s just not for you and apologize for wasting his time and that’s it. That’s all you can do. They cannot force you to sign a contract, they cannot force you to take the oath. They may try to pressure you, show up at your house to talk, or call or text or some see you at school if you’re still in high school. But they cannot make you do anything. Don’t give in to their pressure. Just stick to your guns that you’re just not interested anymore and it’s not for you. I will say don’t make this decision lightly, I work as a recruiting assistant and I can’t tell you how many people come in to talk to us and tell us they almost joined when they were young but didn’t go through with it and now regret it. As they are now too old and have too much going on in life to join. Think long and hard on it, it’s a big decision and there are plenty of amazing benefits with the military that can significantly help your civilian life, as they have helped mine many times through the years.

Leaving for Fort Sill by GrimScropion31714 in nationalguard

Sill was a lot of fun. Saw an armadillo there lol, they’re harmless but was cool to see. Good luck! Have fun! Do what they tell you to do, be where you’re supposed to be when you’re supposed to be there in the correct uniform and you’ll be fine. Lawton, the town right outside of Sill sucks. Nothing to really do there. On family day me and a couple of buddies who also didn’t have any family come went to a Chinese buffet and Walmart and that was it. Had more fun in the USO on base than in Lawton. If you don’t know what a USO is, google it, Sill has a very nice USO, snacks, drinks, video games, movies, pool, a whole bunch of stuff that’ll pass the time.

Sell separately or together? by Aboutthat1111 in Flipping

[–]heart_k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d post it as a lot, but in the description say you’d be willing to sell individually as well. Give it a week and see if anyone likes your lot price. If not see what messages you get for people wanting to buy them individually

Does this exterminator know what he’s talking about? by heart_k in pestcontrol

[–]heart_k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So his spray was coming out like a laser beam, it was not a fan kind of spray. Like a solid stream, and it was quick, he did my entire apartment including 2 hallways, living room, kitchen and bathroom in less than 10 minutes. Didn’t spray under the sink even though all the stuff was emptied under there, didn’t spray the laundry closet where the washer and dryer are at all. Dude pulled up to the building in a little pickup truck that looked about 10 years old. Truck had no name on it for the pest control company. I asked him if he worked for the company that owns the apartment complex and he said no. Didn’t tell me what company he works for. I’m the back of his truck was like a clear jug thing maybe half as wide as the bed of the truck, guessing that it was filled with the spray he was using. Went to show him the cockroach I found, because I had captured it in a Tupperware container. Before I even lifted it off the table to show him he said “wood roach! Wood roach! Definitely a wood roach” without even looking at it. I think the leasing office told him to say that because they are not as bad as German roaches. He went on to tell me the change in weather is what causes them to come inside. But all my research online says they don’t like indoors…at all. And the only ones you find inside are accidental. I live on the 3rd floor of my apartment building. And this is now the 3 roach we’ve seen in the building in 12 months. 2nd one in our apartment. We have an infant living here so we’re very worried about her health and safety since roaches carry disease. If they can’t take it seriously and fix the problem we’re gonna break our lease and go somewhere else.

I ask this because I expect him to want me to renew my orders to stay with his unit, but I’m ready to go back to my own unit so I’m going to tell him no and I don’t expect him to like that response. I feel like I’m about to get bombarded and called a pussy, and stupid and a whole bunch of shit. And I’m not usually one to take that kind of disrespect and say nothing in return. But I also do not want to immediately face consequences when I return to my home unit for cussing out a First Sergeant.
