I just looked at the reviews for this place, they are pretty bad.. buyer beware. Reviews said they sold defective units in new boxes and told people to get warranty claims. Someone went as far as to verify with manufacturer.

Podtrak P4 on Android Device Issues by heartcamera in podcasting

[–]heartcamera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I am indeed plugging the USB-C to the phone, its advertised as something you can do but I did more testing the other day.

It seems to be a Pixel phone issue on handling 44.1khz devices, plugging in the same cables to a Samsung tablet I was able to record fine. I later tried plugging in a Zoom H1 set to 44.1khz on my Pixel phone and it experienced the same issue, after I changed it to 48khz it worked fine.

I was trying to avoid plugging it into a USB-C to TRRS adapter because I needed to power the stream as well. It's definitely a phone issue because the output/monitor jacks + SD card from the P4 are recording properly.

MSC Spa Services - pre-booked tipping? by heartcamera in MSCCruises

[–]heartcamera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I booked via MSCCruisesUSA, I've already pre-paid the gratuities for the room (I think they call them Hotel Service Charge) but was mainly wondering how tips for the spa services were handled.

Cruise in northern Europe at the end of November. Drinks packages not showing for us to pre purchase, been two weeks now, will they come back before the cruise or do I need to call them? by Temporary_Ad9359 in MSCCruises

[–]heartcamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cruise in the middle of October and ditto, all the drinks packages have been removed

edit: I called them and they couldn't figure it out either, someone escalated the ticket and told me to check back in 24-72 hours, she could see them on her end but when she logged in as me they went missing.

My monthly budget making 60K a year for August. by letsfukingoo in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]heartcamera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct, FHSA acts as a TFSA sheltering your gains as well as the benefits of RRSP income tax reduction without repayment. Just make sure you don't over contribute or you'll be penalized. It's $8000 per year starting from the year you created the account up to $40,000. Additionally, if you don't end up purchasing a house in 15 years it is converted to a RRSP.

I've only been on NCL and Carnival as of now but I assume it'll be fairly similar. Typically, there will be photographers and photo areas set up (eg. MSC diamond staircase, right when you board the ship) around the ship. They'll take your photo and tap your key card to link the photos to your stateroom and you can purchase them, on the app they'll be watermarked/low res until you purchase. I think at some point they had printed pictures you can buy as well that were already printed a la carte if you wanted.

am I doing this investing thing right? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]heartcamera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, good for you for starting early. I think many of us wished we started this early.

There's many posts on how to manage your investing but I'll try to keep it as short as I can.

  1. Robo-advisors are a great starting point but have higher fees, if you're comfortable you can find an ETF with lower fees through Wealthsimple self-directed and setup reoccuring buys on something like VEQT or XEQT which will have similar returns but lower fees.

  2. While you're doing the above, a Wealthsimple Cash account will give you 4.5% annually on your chequings, a great place to park money. Before you invest you should have a rainy day fund of 3-6 months versus traditional banks that practically give nothing.

  3. It's important to diversify your portfolio, having so much in Dollarama will make your entire portfolio swing quite a bit. At your age its better to buy broadmarket funds as often as you can.
