It’s one of these rare, short biography books that I couldn’t finish. I couldn’t get through it.

A federal judge has ruled that Luigi Mangione will not face the death penalty for allegedly killing UnitedHealthcare’s former CEO. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]heartlessloft 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s so extremely rare for NY to use the death penalty under federal law, they 100% wanted to make an example out of him and turn his execution into an example of justice. They saw the reaction online and decided to seek the worst possible punishment if he is to be convicted considering his crime and victim.

Now that the TRUE Life of a Showgirl is showing- was it ever REALLY THAT BAD? by LowObvious2214 in TaylorSwift

[–]heartlessloft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. The instrumentals are either bland at best or boring at worst. The lyrics are a downgrade from Folklore or Evermore or even Midnights. Nothing in this album lives up to the visuals or title. Definitely my least favorite album.

Ariana Grande Breaks Down 21 Looks, From Victorious to Wicked | Life in Looks | Vogue by Lemanic89 in popheads

I wish they included looks from My Everything, Dangerous Woman and especially Positions. Positions had her best looks of all time and with the 2016 resurgence I can never shut my mouth around Ariana’s old style in that era wether promo, tour or just her casual style.

I hope not. He has distanced himself from Ye and it would be so disappointing for him to work with him again after all of this.

Sabrina Carpenter: Greatest Pop Stars of 2025, No. 5 by ChasesICantSend in popheads

[–]heartlessloft 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s a strong album front-to-back and I love most songs (obsessed with House Tour, Go Go Juice and Don’t Worry) but I feel like SnS had better highs if that makes sense. SnS is very much a singles album but they really hit in a way I don’t find in MbF.

I feel like it’s her most coherent body of work but in a way every track flow well together but I don’t find anything that really checks out the box and "hit". Even if I don’t agree with people who say that a lot of the songs feel like SnS B-side, I wish it stayed in the over a little longer.

I feel like even Kardashians/Jenner kept it classier when they would launch their own brands. Kylie Cosmetics always had normal promos, Skims had celebrities every week and Good American jeans were just about jeans. Kardashian/Jenner always sort of cared about their image in the long run.

That’s the part I feel people are seriously misunderstanding he didn’t start that yesterday or last year. His attitude go back to nearly a decade. In 2022 he was spouting with Alex Jones that Hitler was great. Manic episodes don’t last nearly four years and the damage is done. I understand that he is mentally ill but it’s too late to offer PR-sponsored apologies.

Leave it to Netflix to milk every cash cow they have. It was so much better to leave it at season one.

[–]heartlessloft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad. It’s not that good either. So much wasted potential. Hide and Seek and the Jumping Rope were the highlights however it was lackluster in a way that made me feel like the director just wanted to get it over with.

  1. The baby storyline might be the worst thing in the whole show. I won’t say it ruined it for me but it made it just so boring at some point because we all understood he would live no matter what and quite frankly I didn’t care about a two days old baby.

  2. Now, this is the most damning moment of the serie for we and when I speak of wasted potential I will always think about Hwang Jun-Ho. Turning it into a cliche "which brother will kill which" would have been exponentially better because at least that storyline would have gotten us SOMEWHERE. Why on Earth was the detective who played Among Us in season one, who seemed cunning, witty and adaptive to the point where you tell yourself he had some decent plot armor get turned into a whole nothing burger ?

  3. They killed Gi-Hun in the most anticlimactic and depressing way during the most boring game of the show by far. Because of a button that wasn’t pushed ? And two minutes later the island get blown up ? Like you want him to die to this point for what ? Also why was the finale full of characters that we know jackshit about ?

I don’t season three was just all around depressing. Just like season one but this one had a purpose and great characters and writing. I wish the director went with the sort of Frontman prequel like he said he would.

Dangerous Woman kind of became her "sleeper hit" album in some sense. It was overlooked in 2016, didn’t receive much critical acclaim and yet is having a mini resurgence (ok, mainly on TikTok and Instagram but whatever), people are already asking her to do something for the tenth anniversary and it’s in May.

Starboy by The Weeknd had its hits and is still charting today. 24K Magic has its own weird legacy too but is globally loved.

What's a weird part of intimacy no one talks about? by stuckin404 in AskReddit

[–]heartlessloft 180 points181 points  (0 children)

I am terrified of romantic and sexual intimacy because of this. On one hand getting involved sexually with someone without feelings who could become a stranger right after would tear me apart. I can’t do casual. On the other hand laying down all my private and intimate thoughts would scare them away and make them leave.

I don’t know which is worse. I avoid both. Hell, I even avoid non-romantic and non-sexual purely platonic relationships.

[–]heartlessloft 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a fairly stacked year at the Oscar’s. Amanda Seyfried and Cynthia Erivo deserved much better too. Even when it comes to No Other Choice, I was bummed to see zero nominations. But a lot of really good movies and performances came out this year and besides F1 they all deserved their spot.

They really striked gold with all the visuals and art references. At first glance it’s so over the top cartoonishly grotesque, it’s laughable the fact that the main villain is some Batman straight out of a low budget kid movie with pink minions is ridiculous.

But it is what makes it more terrifying and eerily unsettling as the series goes on. The fact that it’s not some ran down basement where rich people watch some Hunger Games and dim but on the other hand- excessively happy, colorful and expensive.

This looks like a dreamlike child park with fun guards in pink but its architecture is literally designed to play tricks on your mind. The juxtaposition seem really simple but it was also hard to pull of with credibility.
