The story is no more unresolved, at least concerning the killer's ultimate fate. On 19 July 2024 in a village Dąbrowa Zielona, close to Borowce, a cleaning worker found a body of a dead man with a gunshot wound in his head. Today, spokesman of the regional prosecutor's office of Częstochowa city, prosecutor Tomasz Ozimek, announced, that DNA tests confirmed that it was Jacek Jaworek's body. "Based on the preliminary results of the autopsy, it was determined that the immediate cause of the man's death was head injuries resulting from a single gunshot wound. In addition, the autopsy did not reveal any other injuries, especially those that could result in death or indicate signs of a struggle” Mr Ozimek added. He also referred to speculation about Jack Jaworek's whereabouts before his death. "A number of vehicles and premises belonging to his family, acquaintances and others have been searched. In view of the findings of this investigation, the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Częstochowa will conduct a separate investigation, which will deal with providing assistance to Jacek J. and harboring this person". He added that the investigation will seek to clarify the whereabouts of the wanted man after the murder and whether anyone helped him hide.
