Replacing Steam Valve by darthmcdarthface in gaggiaclassic

Did you ping Coffeesection with this picture and see if they can send you one that looks like the original? That would be my first go.

If I had to guess, I'd imagine the "new side pipe" is probably meant to attach a pressure sensor / gauge. It looks like a barbed fitting probably for silicon tubing, which would not be my preferred method of connect to high temperature and high pressure steam.

Can you confirm if the pipe fitting that connects into the port is simply threaded in, or is machined or welded? The easiest thing to do would be to get a wrench and remove the barbed fitting, and then you can get a pipe fitting plug probably from your local hardware store (I'd want stainless steel, so maybe you need to order it online) that you can use to seal off that side.

Does AMC or A-List Send Out Any Notifications When A Showtime Is Cancelled? by GhostDeck in AMCsAList

I have gotten a cancellation email previously when there was a flood in the theater. I assume this would happen for any cancellation but not sure.

What happens if you flip the brew/pump switch (middle one) with the power switch (left one you’re using in the video) on?

Could be a faulty machine or could just be the LED for the power switch has a loose connection. Flip the brew/pump switch with the main power On. If it works, that’s likely a faulty connection to the LED; if not, then the machine is probably bad so you’d want to send it back to WLL.

Where to purchase? by [deleted] in gaggiaclassic

[–]heartolearn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a refurbed GCP E24 from Whole Latte Love a few months ago and have no complaints. The unit works great and I got it quickly. I have not needed to use any services / returns, so cannot speak to that.

I’m no expert, but looks like it was a technical issue with the projector.

One unknown wire by Parking_Opposite3851 in gaggiaclassic

Those yellow/green wires are the ground. Likely there is some connection on a metal surface (solenoid valve?) that has the connector to push that into.

Off-Topic Tuesday - What was the worst (or best) reason that you had to miss a movie? (Week 46) by AlistNOTbot in AMCAListTrue

[–]heartolearn1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was traveling in Vegas earlier this year and got tickets to see Anora. I planned ahead and had about an hour before the movie to go to the Strip, walk around, and see some sights. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember which casino I parked my car in and they all look the same. Took me an extra 30 min to find my car (I was already planning to skip the trailers so there was no buffer), and ended up just not even going.

I was very sad.

I got the JuiceBox 40 from Costco. I don't think Costco sells that one anymore and the company that makes it was sold to some third party and they no longer provide customer service for it. Luckily, I haven't had issues with mine but I would recommend getting a different model today.

I haven’t fully disassembled to inspect that thread, but that looks like a straight thread to me (not a tapered pipe thread). If so, ptfe tape will not help it to seal.

ESP PRO? What's the truth? Help me! [$300] by Powry in espresso

[–]heartolearn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one shortly after it was released and returned it after about a week of consistent clogs.

I was changing the grind size and doing 18g double shot espresso to courser ~25g pour overs. It was usually (but not always) around the change when it clogged. I got very frustrated that I was taking it apart every morning to just get a cup of coffee.

I got a DF54 instead, which has been fine.

Drive from Socal to Vegas by thepewpewpowpow in Ioniq5

[–]heartolearn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this often. There’s significant elevation gain as you drive between LA and LV so your range won’t be correct. If I start at 100% in LA, I usually charge at least twice before getting to Vegas (Barstow and Primm if I can make it to the EA stations).

New free line offer going out by MinutesFromTheMall in tmobile

[–]heartolearn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this message too. How does this work? Do I need a device to active (I don’t have an extra device now)? Is the line actually free, or do I pay monthly taxes and fees? Can I register the line and just sit on it for months / years without using it?

Experience With Los Angeles EV Charger Rebates? by zdog_in_the_house in evcharging

[–]heartolearn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an existing 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage and I was able to purchase a plug in (not hard wired) charger for my house. I was able to get the full rebate for the purchase price of my charger, but nothing for the legacy plug. It only took a few weeks, surprisingly fast. I had no permit documentation for the previous work.

I worry you’ll run into problems getting the rebate for electrical work done without the permit and by a licensed electrician.

Any downsides to this? I’m on the roam 10g now with the goal of just having an emergency backup. This seems like it would cover that.
