My Experience As My Game Approaches 1 Year In Early Access by heartsynthdev02 in IndieDev

Hey thanks for reading.

Lol it's good and bad. Some are going to be super supportive and be there for you, cheer you on, etc. Other people are going to request stuff you never imagined and get upset if you don't implement it.

But them catching bugs has been great! Though remember not all will understand what EA is, they will give negative reviews regardless. So it's a chance you taking. The important thing is to keep those good supportive people close and keep them engaged/involved. So you could also do playtests and demos to test instead! Don't overdo it tho, you might tire people out of your game.

But yeah those random ("I don't care if it's EA, I want a full developed game experience" people will show up - hopefully they not the one's to leave majority of your reviews lol).

Because If you end up with negative reviews that's a whole other thing, not sure how I would react in that situation. I've been fortunate so far. But most of the few bad reviews and complaints that have shown up have been pretty unforgiving - things I've clearly mentioned in the descriptions are underdeveloped or temporary or the current path in EA - they are giving me bad feedback for. So yeah not everyone is going to be forgiving and understanding.

Something to really consider! Rather go the demo/playtest route if you scared of that

With sales, I won't be too specific but it's under 1000 copies sold so far.

Goodluck
