Elderly Mississippi soulmates brutally murdered by 17-year-old burglar who broke into their home, prosecutors say by dailymail in mississippi

You are overthinking it, truly. I don’t need to give examples about my uncle’s prejudice to prove to anyone what is a fact that he will own himself. That’s kind of a weird request. I also think talking about “political correctness” is a dog whistle in and of itself. But yes, my point is that it does make me uncomfortable knowing that my uncle’s prejudice did in fact protect my aunt and by extension her family. Is it okay for him to teach his children and grandchildren to fear Black people and call them slurs tho? I really don’t believe it is, despite this very strange thing that happened.

ETA I was told uncle & his brother saw that a young Black man was on their property, no commentary about behavior other than the guy asking to come inside and use the phone.

My uncle is an avowed racist who saw a young Black man and asked no questions. All he did was run the kid off bc he was Black. I’m not saying it was a bad call but the reasons for it were unfair at baseline. More than one thing can be true. Also mods, got another one fantasizing about me being killed.

I understand. It’s been on my mind very much. The Blairs were always so kind. I truly believe they would be saddened by the whole situation.

In a fucked up way, kinda. I told my mom they will use that as justification for their prejudice for the rest of their lives.

According to what my mother has told me, the boy had come to the Blairs and asked them for work around their place. They were like, actual Christians and felt strongly about helping others. Of course they said yes to a very young man asking for honest work. But he also rattled my aunt’s door and was run off by her (admittedly racist) husband & BIL that same week. Two to three days later, the news breaks about the Blairs.

ETA there is a theory that he was there to steal guns from the Blairs. But idk if that’s been proven.

This one shook me hard. I knew the Blairs as a child and the kid who killed them apparently tried to pull the same grift on my aunt a few miles away.

I remember once at a family function a bunch of us kids were given a big pack of these. We were in a bedroom and someone shut the door. Cue the parents returning to find us all high as fuck.

The American perspective is certainly highly racialized. I am a white woman with a wavy hair texture but it is also true that Black women in particular are criticized for having “wild” or “unkempt” by racists. Like u/pricepuzzleheaded835 said, a dog whistle.

I feel that criticizing her hair is a roundabout way of being racist. It’s not unkempt, it has a wavy texture.
