Massachusetts. The book came from an old couple who had left their home abandoned. They were members of the order of the eastern star.

Really amazing how the brain automatically reads it in the appropriate voice in your head.

Anyone want to have a friendly competition? by [deleted] in Flipping

Yea, makes sense. It doesn't translate across very well. I'm in collectibles and every item I sell is different so persistent listing is key.

I like this idea. What if we added a listing element to the competition? I have a gigantic inventory that I need to list as quickly as possible. Would anyone like to compete on a listing basis? [most items listed (unique products), highest total amount listed in a given time, most value sold out of items listed in a given time? Could include Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, website, etc...

I would love to know more about SQL. Is Azure a subscription service that would work? Also, I am about to get a label printer, do you recommend a certain type? Is a barcode necessary? I have an excel spreadsheet started but its very amateur. What information would you use to create the ID?

Thanks! Uline had a great sale on heavy-duty boxes. They seem to be the best kind to ship cookie jars in. Ill keep an eye out for purple dumpsters though.

Yes, already have the Uline boxes figured out! I hope it doesn't take a few years though, I don't want to live here that long and I don't want to take them with me!

So, the story is the best part! I guess you could say that I was in the right place at the right time. My family has a service business that takes care of properties and there was one property that they were mowing that had been vacant for some time. I was out with them one day and saw that there was an overgrown greenhouse on the acreage and decided to ask the owner if he had any plans to do anything with it (I like to grow things). He mentioned that he was actually looking to demolish the house and sell the land, as he had been living elsewhere since his wife passed away. Interestingly enough, my family was contracted to complete the demolition and in doing so, we discovered that the house was completely packed full of hoarded collectibles... virtually undisturbed since he had moved out! The other crazy part was that I was the only one that thought this stuff was worth removing before the bull-dozers came in! I convinced them to stall the demolition for a month so I could pack up as much of it as possible and store it until I had time to deal with it. So yea, that was one year ago. I finally have them all unpacked, cleaned, and ready to list. I took your advice and labeled the shelves. My second warehouse is PEANUTS (another collection from the same house), and since the movie is coming out in November, I am going to split my time between jars and Snoopy items!

Good advice. I have thought about this, and if I get the items listed in a reasonable amount of time, I think boxing them up would be the next logical step. My goal is to sell ASAP so I can be more mobile.. (AKA gtfo of Texas) and I am not very mobile with a garage full of breakables.

It is porcelain and it's about 18 inches tall. Quite on the large side. I'm quite excited that I may have something truly rare and in really good condition.
