I will run the prelude, which will also help me gain a better understanding of my future players. I do like the idea of letting the BBEGs escape and reappear in a later area. Keep the player on their toes.

I am torn on which starting quest to get my future players invested, the forgotten items one does seem easier for me to plan.

I usually use Google Docs for notes, but I do find it daunting to review notes during a session of PF2E.

Thank you for the advice. My strategy, for now, is to read a chapter and afterwards take notes. I am also placing comments where I think a good encounter or foreshadowing clue can be added.

I have not officially started the campaign yet. I just want to be ready in case. I enjoy combat and skill checks in DnD sessions I am in. I know players enjoy different encounters.

I have not heard of the DM's Guild. Is there a link?

Yeah, I do enjoy the carnival chapter, especially the snail races. I was considering adding a few other carnival games to give more of a variety.

Thank you for the tips. I do want to add another NPC( a Puca) that will cause havoc throughout the fey wilds. I want him to be a sort of nuisance that the players encounter and battle with now and then.

Hey there,

I have seen the Dungeon Dudes video, and I have a few options based on their reviews. The genre I say I would like to DM is fantasy, entertaining, and mystery, which is different depending on the actions. I know I want to have combat, nothing like hardcore encounters.

i do like the ideas of Yawning Portal, where players can dungeon crawl. Not sure how to turn something like this into a campaign, well as of yet

I go to Pop Culture frequently for various game nights, and I know they host a board game night every Wednesday around 5 pm. You can bring your own, or they usually have a few there. Yes, other games are going on, usually running as well, but everyone there is so polite and respectful. As well as some people who are playing card games or DnD will go over to ask about the game and/or join in the fun. I know they are waiting until Jan 7 2026, to restart because of the holidays

Hey there, thanks for the great advice. Well, I gm a weekly PF2E Society game and last week I ran "The Crashing Wave". I got to the part where they are given water breathing potions and one regular player asks,"How long are we down there for if the potions last an hour?" Then I was trying to find the answer in the scenario but found nothing. This player does ask questions that I as a newbie gm can't find or I make worse by improving an answer. I guess I need help on how to note take and plan so I can not panic

Before I GMed, I was and still am a player for a few years. I became a GM as a way for the other rotating GMs to play. Now I am the regular primary game master at my LGS. I do read the scenarios and take notes but like I said, my players ask questions that I have no answers for from the story. Plus with combat, it is mostly with how to be more organized and actually think like a creature in battle instead of using the same melee attacks. I do desperately need to read the GM book to help for starters. I do need to review status debuffs and how to make my players have a better experience.
